hello!!! edit

hello!!!! i am a 6th grader from the philippines and i appreciate your editings in philippine related articles (especially the philippine trench, for some unknown reasons). i just want to ask on how to put images on articles. and keep on working on philippine related articles!!! user:reviewgirlerika

Hiya, thanks for the compliments. :) To upload an image to Wikipedia, click on the "Upload file" link on the toolbox at the left side of the page. Use that form to select your file and add information about it... be sure to follow the guidelines on that page, or the file may eventually be deleted! To make the uploaded file appear in an article, add the text
File:Filename
Caption
to the article. For more information, see Wikipedia:Uploading images, Wikipedia:Images, and Wikipedia:Extended image syntax. :) Coffee 09:59, 15 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Nomination? edit

Hi. Thanks for both the compliments about my editing and the expression of faith in me. I have sometimes thought that it would be helpful to have the ability to delete articles as I go through Recent Changes and New Articles (I get especially eager to remove those which are copyright violations). Before we discuss the idea further, though, I was wondering where it was that my editing came to your attention, as I don't recall having collaborated with you. My suspicion is that you may have noticed my edits at Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use. I did look over your contributions, and, regardless of where our conversation goes, I think its great that you have been so active in improving Wikipedia's coverage of the Phillipines. Jkelly 16:40, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. Let's take it to the community and see what people think. Jkelly 17:08, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I posted it up, after accepting and answering the questions. Thanks, and I am crossing my fingers! Jkelly 18:29, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
It's rewarding to see that a number of people have confidence in my candidacy. I notice that, of the respondents, a small number are from Wikipedia:WikiProject Music, another small number are from Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use and a rather large number are editors that I have encountered primarily at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Since I presumably have not voted precisely the same way as they have on every article, I wonder if the reputation that WP:AFD has for being faction-infested is a little overblown. Jkelly 18:19, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the nomination. It seems that, thanks to your nomination and support, I've been made an admin. I'm looking forward to pitching in and doing some cleanup-work, but, before I do, I wanted to express my thanks again. Jkelly 08:30, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Copyright header edit

Hey there. Why not leave the (very long) list of interwikis in the header where there is less (probably zero) chance of a newbie doing things to them by accident? They originally went there to keep the size of editing the page down to the bearest minimum. Since the page finishes up with them after the includeonly I don't see the need to have them anywhere but in the header. -Splashtalk 22:18, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I know - I made the subpage structure. The interwikis in the header keeps them out of harms way and will confuse newbies less. Plus, it makes the wiki code for the mainpage much the cleaner and there is absolutely no change to the interwiki/cat status of the page. Note that the includeonly means that the header itself doesn't acquire the interwikis/cats, only the main page. -Splashtalk 22:24, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I saw you doing that, and I think it is much better for it. It's a pity that the general instructions don't lend themselves to a much simpler expression entirely. But so few things here do...Oh, and I don't much mind about the interwikis, it's a matter of +/- a few bytes. -Splashtalk 22:36, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deleted Images edit

Hey Coffee, you deleted all the images I uploaded to illustrate the dreadlocks article. All had a Creative Commons Attribution and/or Attribution-ShareAlike License (just like the Image:Trustafari.jpg which illustrates the Cultural appropriation article). According to the Wikipedia guideline, images with attribution and attribution-ShareAlike license are allowed to be used on Wikipedia. [1] Could you please tell me, why you deleted them regardless? Thanks CoYep 10:15, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

FYI, here are the original links:

  • [3] DreadlockWoman.jpg -- by-nc-sa license
  • [4] Trusta.jpg -- by-nc-nd license
  • [5] Trustafari.jpg -- by-nc-sa license

Thanks for your quick response. What if I contact the copy right holders and ask them to change the rights for those images? Would that be okay? CoYep 12:02, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Great! Sending out the mails now. Wish me luck! :=) CoYep 12:12, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Alright, got one response already. How do I proceed now? Should I post the email along with the image? What about the private informations such as our email addy's? Is there a place where I can post them so you can varify the permission but can only accessed/viewed by the admins? CoYep 13:32, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hey Coffee, it's me again. I'm sorry that I have to bother you again, but I made a mistake and uploaded the wrong picture. I now uploaded the right one, could you please delete the Image:DreadlockWoman.jpg until I get permission to use it? Thanks a lot! CoYep 19:41, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

VCU edit

Tell me why you deleted images from the VCU entry that enriched the article and put the campus into perspective. --StevenL 03:58, 2 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

All of the images I deleted had no source or copyright information, and they were all tagged with warnings that they would be deleted if the information was not supplied. The criteria for speedy deletion includes "Images in category 'Images with unknown source' or 'Images with unknown copyright status' which have been tagged with a template that places them in the category for more than 7 days". These images were tagged for nearly 5 months. You may reupload them if you can supply source and license information that verifies that they are free for use on Wikipedia. Deletion of Peaces01.gif and Sfry_em.gif edit

I'm very mad. Why did you delete those pictures? They had a copyright. I just forgot to put in that there is a copyright on those pictures. You could've asked me if the pictures had a copyright or not. Dbalic 23:30, 2 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I deleted both of the pictures when processing listings at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. You can see an archive of their listing here. They were listed as having no source and "only used in an image gallery", and no objections to deletion were raised. I can see on your talk page that you were informed about their listing for deletion. If you wish, you may reupload them with the necessary source and license information. WP:PUI edit

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I would like to see the process amended to:

4. After 7 days of Phase I, if the issues has not been cleared up, move to the section of Phase II for the date you move it and add {{unverifiedimage}} to the caption on articles the image is on.

Listings should be processed by an administrator after being listed in Phase II for 7 days.

Putting the unverifiedimage tag on the articles is very time consuming and a waste of that time in my opinion. I don't do it or expect anyone else to.

Would you like to put a "change of process" notice on the WP:PUI and outline the process change on the talk page? -Thanks Nv8200p talk 15:15, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deleted images edit

Hi, sorry to be annoying, but you deleted a lot of images which were fair use and appeared to be orphaned. Unfortunately they weren't orphaned - they were linked from various articles. Is there any chance of getting these images back? The pages were the images were linked are Final Fantasy bestiary (A-E), Final Fantasy bestiary (F-M), Final Fantasy bestiary (N-Z). Sorry but there are too many deleted images to link to here. Hope this can help. (This message posted as part of WP:PJFF) — CuaHL 16:38, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • re: Final Fantasy images — Ahh! Oh well. I completely understand why you deleted them.. I just realised they appear to be orphaned. Maybe we should have left a warning not to delete. Thanks for your help anyway, I'm sure a bunch of Final Fantasy obsessed Wikipedians can get the collection back up in no time at all. Cheers mate! — CuaHL 17:07, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Eagle edit

The eagle on the Coat of Arms of the Philippines is incorrectly drawn. It was copied from the coat of arms of the United States. Both pair of feets are holding both arrows and olive branches not in seperate feet. Notice the seals of the Department of Foreign Affairs], Department of National Defense, House of Representatives and the Senate all have the same design. --Exec8 19:32, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

For a closer look at the seal click on http://www.angelfire.com/ri/cybernet/images/11b.jpg

Oh? Well I didn't really draw the coat of arms myself, I just found it at a government website. Hmm, I think it was the Malacañang website... yup, here it is: http://www.op.gov.ph/museum/symbols_COA.asp Coffee 03:41, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Yuck Factor edit

Hi, you've deleted "yuck factor" (with user Scoo) under the reason of "disguised nonsense". I don't know if it's simply that I'm very bad at describing a concept or because you think the "yuck factor" concept doesn't exist ? I've just came accross this expression in an article yesterday and though it would be good to start documenting it. You can prove yourself this expression exist by looking at google. cf definition there [7] .

If you agree it's an expression that exist, could you rewrite the stub article in a better way? Thanks Pieleric

Deletion of Image:010405u.png edit

Hi you deleted a image "010405u.png" with the reason "not used in any article" however it was used and now you've created a broken link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hedley/April_Fool%27s_Day%2C_2005)

Ah, but that page isn't an article. Fair use images are not allowed in the user namespace. Coffee 17:59, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Image:Koldingfc.png edit

Does this count for article drafts (such as User:AB-me/Kolding_FC)? WP:CSD states that "Reasonable exceptions may be made for images uploaded for an upcoming article". If the deletion is correct, then Image:Brabrand_IF.jpg, Image:Brønshøjbk.png and Image:Randersfc.png should be deleted as well. /AB-me (chit-chat) 21:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

If the draft was created recently, I'd say a "reasonable exception" could be made. Also, to be elegible for deletion, it has to be in Category:Orphaned fairuse images for at least 7 days. Coffee 03:21, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of SD.net image edit

You deleted a image from a personal user page without justification or cause. Nor did you inform me of what you were doing or warn that it might be against the rules. Since the image itself violated no rules what so ever, you abused your powers. If you delete this image again you will be reported for vandalism. Alyeska 04:22, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Had you even bothered to do even a little research into the subject you would have discovered that I am a Super Moderator from the forum in question and have the authority to allow such things on the page. That picture violates nothing and you deleted it without any warning or even researching the subject. Alyeska 16:57, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Stop vandalizing my user page in regards to the SD.net logo. I have permission from the owner of that image to display it and all you are doing is vandalizing my page for absurd reasons. Since there is no complaint and that the image was in use in the article before it became private, you have no grounds. Cease and decist your vandalism. Alyeska 21:55, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your edits are not in good faith because there have been no complaints and you have refused to accept the fact that I have authorization to post the picture in my profile. E-mail the owner of the website in question asking and you will see what I am saying. Your being lazy by saying "rules violation" and doing nothing else. Furthermore, I did not abuse the vandalism in progress. You repeatedly vandalized a personal page after being told to stop. Alyeska 18:24, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I've never tagged or uploaded an image before, so its somethingly completely beyond me. Rather then ask me to fix it or ask me to remove it or even ask for the information required, you just go about deleting it. As an admin, your job isn't just to go about randomly deleting things. You can fix the problem rather then erase it. Alyeska 18:33, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

edit

I do not find a source for the logo used in Costa Coffee. I think it may be necessary to nominate it for removal. Do you agree with that? (I ask first, because I have not done this here before. If you know how to do that is Ok with me.) JohJak2 13:43, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it's necessary to delete it. Source information is usually required in order to verify the owner of an image's copyright to ensure that it really is free to use on Wikipedia. In the case of logos, it's very clear who the copyright belongs to and we can claim fair use on it. That's my understanding, at least. Coffee 08:05, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. That clarifies it.JohJak2 16:19, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Robert Newton edit

Well, if you read the article it makes considerable mention of the book and movie Treasure Island, including Robert Newton as the primary influence on popular notions of pirates, I think it qualifies as fair use in the context of the article. --Stbalbach 19:24, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

ROTS soundtrack edit

I know this isn't common practice, but I manually moved the article on the ROTS soundtrack you had at Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Soundtrack, to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (soundtrack), which had already been created by someone back in December as a redirect to the main ROTS article. Since there was only one edit for each article (you had made one edit to establish the page on yours, the other guy had made one edit in redircting), I simply copied from yours to the correct title, and redirected the page you had established there.

I normally wouldn't do this, but the page would not move since one was already there, and since there was only one edit to each of the articles, I saw no problem in manually moving the text. The Wookieepedian 08:28, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adminitis edit

The page in question is ha ha only serious. Many otherwise nice people (though typically admins) on wikipedia have actually experienced similar symptoms.

Often they manage to cure it by going on wikibreak, though some have failed and gotten driven off the wiki. For instance User:Ed Poor who I've actually met in real life. There is just no way you could imagine that this man might ever behave anything other than in an upstanding way. Yet he has lost all his privileges on wikipedia, due I believe to (what we're now trying to call) adminitis.

Anyway, you do seem to be displaying some (early) symptoms of the syndrome. So hmm, like, please take care! Kim Bruning 17:33, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, well, nominating the page for MFD is explicitly listed as a symptom. ;-) Also not seeing the humor implicit in that page might be.
Basically, just try to imagine wikipedia as just a bunch of pixels on a computer screen. Rearrange the pixels a little, and you might get a show by Bozo The Clown, for instance. If you're having trouble visualising that, or if you're not having fun but are still here, then you may indeed be suffering from adminitis. :-) Kim Bruning 18:10, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

kevin frayne? edit

the kevin frayne article was simply amazing

though blatantly fictional, it was amazingly humourous in its grandeur and there was no page that was edited it it's making, rather, it was created for fun. I know the rules, but whovever constructed it was brilliant in doing so, seeing as time was obviously spent on it.

For shame, TheCoffee, for shame.

Crash edit

Hi there, Coffee. Fellow Blue Eagle Computer Science grad here. As someone who thinks Wikipedia rocks, I think it's cool to find you've made it here on Wikipedia (being an admin and 300th most active Wikipedian and all that).  :-)

Anyway, I was watching the Crash (2004 film) article, when I saw your Talk. Good film, huh. My take on the the "Chinaman" scene: it was to show that this seeming victim (who got run over and kept being called by a racial label) actually victimizes others (fellow Asian immigrants even -- in contrast to Ludacris's character, who draws the line at not robbing other African-Americans) for profit. The hurry to cash the check shows that he's motivated by money; it was probably a payment related to his human-smuggling, or maybe some kind of health or insurance coverage for his injuries.

OK, that wasn't so interesting. I just basically wanted to give a shout out. --Mercurio 09:59, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Zamboanga Province / Del Norte Maps edit

I am looking for Zamboanga Del Norte Maps that is currently under the helm of TVI Mining and PHILEX Mining from enviromental destruction. Many areas in this province has been allocated already to this mining industries without the knowledge of the affected community. Can you make a map where this mining industries are operating? It would be a great help to communities affected and to all uninformed. - subliminal

Sorry, I wish I could help, but I'm not really familiar with those sort of things. Pretty much all the maps I've made are based on maps on other websites. Coffee 11:46, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Time is running out. Save the Philippines. Amid heavy rains, effluents from the mine tailing ponds overflowed on October 31 into two creeks, which were later found to contain increased levels of cyanide. Dead fish were recovered in the area days and months later, the Rapu Rapu Fact Finding Commission reported. http://www.sunstar.com.ph/static/net/2006/05/20/body.recommends.closure.of.aussie.operated.mine.html

"We hope President Arroyo will listen to the clamor of the people ... to decide to keep the mines in Rapu Rapu closed as the negative environmental, social, and economic impacts to the communities far outweigh the alleged benefits," - Greenpeace.

How I wish google has a high resolution of the mining in the Philippines.

Zamboanga City map edit

Image:Ph locator zamboanga del sur zamboanga.png is currently unused. User:Weekeejames says it is misleading (in which I agree). However, the new map he replaced it with Image:Zambofinal large.jpg, does not show where exactly Zamboanga City is. Since you were the ones making these maps, how about creating a locator map that says that Zamboanga City is not a part of Zamboanga del Sur? Maybe you'd change the colors or something. Thanks. --Howard the Duck | talk, 05:47, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maps of Talisay and San Nicolas, Batangas edit

I think that the maps of Talisay and San Nicolas, Batangas would have to be updated, the towns have jurisdiction over the upper half and lower half of Volcano Island respectively.

Would it also be possible for you to create a map of the ARMM, highlighting in another shade the provinces and cities intended to be part of it, in accordance with the 1976 Tripoli Agreement, but just continuous to oppose inclusion through plebiscites. The provinces are, Palawan, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Norte, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao del Sur, and the cities of Puerto Princesa, Zamboanga, Pagadian, Dapitan, Dipolog, Iligan, Isabela, Cotabato, Kidapawan, Tacurong, General Santos, Koronadal.

Forgive my ignorance, I suggest that a separate regional infobox be created for the ARMM, to accomodate its seal and provide in the infobox its Governor, I just don't know how to alter them. -- Scorpion prinz | talk, 22:34, 09 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I've fixed those two Batangas maps to show their jurisdiction over Volcano Island. And I can make an ARMM map... it'll take some time though, I'll get back to you with that. :) As for the infobox... we're using Template:Infobox Philippine region on all the region article pages. The reason for having an infobox is to have a "consistently formatted table of data for articles with a common subject", so I don't think it would be good to put the seal and governor in the ARMM infobox, since ARMM is the only region that has a seal and governor. I'd prefer to just mention who the governor is in the lead section, and put the seal image somewhere prominent near the top without changing the infobox. Coffee 05:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

ARMM Map edit

Hey! great to see a fellow Bosconian around Ü. Thanks for the map, that was fast! With regard to the concerns you raised, it will be best to have Cotabato City in pink since its actually not part of the ARMM. As for Davao City its correct to have excluded it. Will you also be able to label these areas as well - the provinces and maybe just dot on the map the highly urbanized cities: Zamboanga, General Santos, Cotabato, Iligan and Isabela City too, or will it make the map too crowded? Would providing labels for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao be accomodated as well?

Anyway if I were to suggest colors, the ARMM areas remain in red, the areas intended to be part of ARMM in yellow, and the other areas be in brown, just like other regional locator maps, just retain all the exisiting provincial boundaries in the map. If you could likewise include the shade of Malaysian territory, so as not to make it appear that the vicinity is all water, that will be perfect. -- Scorpion prinz | talk, 01:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The map is already perfect! I think you just forgot to put the labels on Palawan and the cities though, or will it appear too crowded, or lets just let go of the dots? Ü -- Scorpion prinz, 01:05, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Before deleting an image, make sure of the following:

  • The uploader has been alerted on their talk page to the imminent deletion of their image.
  • No objections to its deletion have been raised, or a consensus to delete has been reached.
  • The image is not used in any article (or has been tagged with {{ifdc}} where it is used).
  • ...
  • Images cannot be undeleted, so be cautious about deleting.

I can only repeat what's already been said to you:

"Rather then ask me to fix it or ask me to remove it or even ask for the information required, you just go about deleting it. As an admin, your job isn't just to go about randomly deleting things. You can fix the problem rather then erase it. Alyeska 18:33, 31 December 2005 (UTC)User_talk:TheCoffee#Deletion_of_SD.net_image

Gzuckier 18:11, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

There's no need to inform users about a deletion when the image falls under the Criteria for speedy deletion. In the case of the three deleted images that you point out, they were deleted because they were tagged as "fair use" but were not used on any article. Coffee 04:36, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thats a copout and you know it. The rules for deletion of images make no reference to that "exception". Alyeska 23:29, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

On the WP:CSD page, it says "For any images that are not speedy deletion candidates, use WP:IFD". If the image falls under the speedy deletion criteria, it doesn't need to go through the whole formal IFD procedure, including informing the uploader. Coffee 03:33, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, the problem is that FU images prior to March which are attached to an article need to inform the uploader before deletion, although orphan old FU images don't. So, an "adversarial" editor takes the image out of the article, the uploader doesn't catch the change in what's usually a constant flurry of edits in a controversial page, then the image is now an orphan and gets irreversibly deleted. Making the original policy of notifying uploaders of older FU images that aren't orphans basically useless. (Not trying to pin this all on you, BTW). Gzuckier 17:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

locator maps of Banton and Concepcion, Romblon edit

I think the locator maps of Banton, Romblon and Concepcion, Romblon are not correct, because if you read the website of Banton [9], it says that the small islands La Carlota, Isabela and Bantoncillo belong to Banton, while the maps say that La Carlota and Isabela belong to Concepcion. But perhaps this has been changed in recent years? (The website has not been updated in 4 years.) Magalhães 19:21, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maps, DB Dumaguete edit

Chief, I have recently come up with articles about the Congresses of the Philippines: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Thirteenth Congresses, Eighth to the Twelfth are to follow Ü, would it interest you to create a map showing the number of representatives each province have? The provinces will be shaded according to the number of representatives they send to the house of representatives for each congress.

I also saw your district map of Negros Oriental, you might also interest in creating district maps for the provinces I've already come up with congressional district articles: Congressional Districts of Manila, Congressional Districts of Cebu, Congressional Districts of Agusan del Norte (these are the ones divided into two or more congressional districts), I am to commence working on the others. But for Manila I guess the boundary between Pasay and Manila should be rectified, as Manila owns a piece of land on the CCP Complex [10]. It might also be nice to shade in different colors the 16 districts of Manila (Tondo, Sta. Cruz, Quiapo, San Nicolas, Binondo, Sampaloc, San Miguel, Sta. Mesa, Sta. Ana, San Andres, Intramuros, Port Area, Malate, Ermita, Paco, Pandacan), or much like the shading in the provinces shown in the Regions of the Philippines; districts which belong to the same congressional district will have the same color, but will differ in shade. I can help in determining each district's limits I have an old map which shows them, if you need any assitance.

I also made template of Don Bosco Schools in the Philippines Template:Don Bosco Philippines, since you took your HS in DB Dumaguete, would it also interest you to write an article about it? Only DB Mandaluyong and DB Victorias have articles, long way to go for DB Philippine Schools. Scorpion prinz 04:30, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Boston Tea Party edit

Howdy, I noticed that you and I seem to post in one or two articles dealing with progressive issues in political science/sociology. There's currently a debate beginning in Boston Tea Party as to whether the article should include the category [11]. It meets definitions set in the articles Terrorism and Definition of terrorism, however, there are several self-proclaimed patriots who watch BTP who refuse to recognise the fact. The simple criteria for terrorism generally seem to be intimidation or destruction of property in order to change public policy or public opinion while a state of war has not yet been declared. Some users would rather use recent acts of terrorism as a yardstick, rather than using a firm definition, and hence lose their ability to discuss matters calmly. Would you be able to pop in to the Talk page and join in the discussion? Thanks much, samwaltz 05:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Two other municipalities were split off from Tipo-Tipo, Basilan: Al-Barka, Basilan and Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan. See for more information: http://www.nscb.gov.ph/factsheet/pdf06/FS-200607-PP2-02.pdf. Uhh... I think I've run into a problem. I don't have a reliable source to base the new municipality borders from. I tried to figure out the borders using mapcentral.ph, based on the way the barangays were distributed, but it seems that the result was a weird patchwork of borders that didn't seem accurate. I guess I'll just need to wait until some reliable source comes up before I can make new maps. For now I'll just put the maps of the town that it used to be part of. Bikol languages map edit

Awesome map so far! Thanks. The image size and fonts are perfect Here are some suggestions:

  • Cebuano, Hiligaynon & Tagalog should be the same shade of gray.
  • Could you make Central Sorsogon a darker green so it could better contrast with the bay in the middle of it?
  • Would it be possible to put the names of major cities? Or at least provincial boundaries if the names of major cities makes it look too busy.
  • A legend on the bottom left hand corner: North Coastal Standard Bikol (red box), Southern Coastal and Inland Bikol (purple box), Northern Catanduanes Bikol (yellow box), Bisakol (green box), Other (gray).

As they say in Bicol Naga, Diyos Mabalos!  :-) --Chris S. 20:21, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It seems that Weatherman5000 is using barnstars that have been granted to you, as well as some barnstars from other users P-Chan and Andman8. I don't know if this is legit, so I figured I should ask. Dancter 16:50, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Move request edit

Can i request that the Congressional district of Pateros-Taguig City be moved to Congressional district of Taguig City-Pateros and back? I guess there's a double redirect there somewhere. I'm messing these things up. Sorry. Scorpion prinz 08:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've made Congressional district of Taguig City-Pateros redirect to Congressional district of Pateros-Taguig City. Would that be good enough? Coffee 15:45, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I guess Congressional District of Taguig City-Pateros should directly redirect to Congressional district of Pateros-Taguig City. Ü Scorpion prinz 23:55, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ok, done. :) Coffee 05:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks sir! More to go as I mess these up. hehehe. Ü Scorpion prinz 06:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I guess I found another redirection problem, clicking on the link of Lone for Pasig City it doesnt link directly to Congressional district of Pasig City. Hope it can be fixed, sorry for the inconvenience, really. Ü Scorpion prinz 17:26, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Rubik.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rubik.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Maps edit

I'm wondering if you have Philippine provincial maps that are blank and use only two colors (white and gray or blue and gray) like the Wikipedia's blank world maps. So that I can simply use paint in filling them up. --Howard the Duck 10:47, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh yeah, that would be a nice thing... Unfortunately I'm in Cebu right now so I don't have access to the original Photoshop files. But I think I'll be going home this weekend so i can provide some nice template maps, no problem. :) Coffee 11:38, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yay. Can you also remove the latitudes and longitudes? That'll be great. --Howard the Duck 12:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Can you apply this to the Metro Manila map? --Howard the Duck 06:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I sure can. But it'll have to wait until I get access to my beloved Photoshop again. I'll add this on my ever-growing list of things I need to get done eventually. Coffee 07:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please undelete Wikipedia talk:Subpages pros and cons edit

Can that talk page be undeleted (see Wikipedia talk:Subpages pros and cons log). It turns out it is not orphaned, but is linked to from :

Alternatively, do you think it is so old and uninteresting (I don't know, I haven't seen it), even for meta:Wikiarchaeologists, that the incoming links should be deleted instead? That alternative would also be fine by me. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 10:57, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Technically that page is speedyable since it's a talk page to a page that doesn't exist now, but I think here's a better solution: I've undeleted the page and moved it to Wikipedia talk:Do not use subpages/Archive, and updated the incoming links. It is a very old page (untouched since 2002), but maybe people can find it interesting. :p Coffee 13:03, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

New Philippine Province edit

Maguindanao voters approve new province Last updated 04:17am (Mla time) 10/31/2006 Published on Page A14 of the October 31, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

Voters in Maguindanao’s 29 municipalities have approved the creation of a new province to be composed of 10 towns, Of Maguindanao’s more than 500,000 registered voters, 285,372 favored the creation of Shariff Kabunsuan province. Only 8,802 voted against it.

Shariff Kabunsuan became the country’s 80th province and the 6th in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The new province, carved out of Maguindanao, is composed of the towns of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Upi, Sultan Kudarat, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Sultan Mastura, Parang, Buldon, Matanog and Barira.

ARMM is now composed of Maguindanao, Shariff Kabunsuan, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and the city of Marawi.

The new province was named after an Arab-Malay Islamic preacher who introduced Islam in Central Mindanao in the 14th century.

Bohol edit

Okey, I should have checked...Anyway, I will see what I can do to check and make sure Bohol is about the LGU Province and Bohol Island is about the island of Bohol. Any thoughts as of the current contents of each right now? Guest818 03:14, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The way I see it right now, the contents in the intro in Bohol are about the island, not the Provincial Government of Bohol. I think we need to change the title of Bohol to Provincial Government of Bohol and retain Bohol Island as well as re-direct an Bohol to Bohol Island... I don't know...Just a thought! Guest818 03:29, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, the Bohol article doesn't have to be only about the provincial government.. It should be about Bohol as a cultural, political, geographic entity (see, for example, Philippines, or California). The way I see it, the Bohol Island article should be about the island itself as geographic feature. Coffee 04:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okey...I will see what I can do...Guest818 06:45, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of SVD Schools edit

I worked a little bit on the articles University of San Carlos and Holy Name University. There are other schools in the Philippines run by SVDs. Please see List of SVD Schools. Is it possible to make a stub for these schools? Thanks...Guest818 03:32, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't really know anything about SVD, but feel free to make stubs for any of these schools as long as you have some reliable sources to make them up. :) Coffee 04:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
The University of San Carlos is in Cebu City. It is one of the schools run by the SVDs. I really meant to write template, not stubs, like the one the Ateneo has at the bottom...Is it possible for you to make one for the SVDs as well? Thanks...Guest818 06:44, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks much! I really appreciate it. I will work on the stubs soon. Best of luck...Pahabol: if you can access a picture of USC, that will be most welcome, too! Guest818 03:10, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
How to delete the article - Divine World College of Legazpi? The correct name is Divine Word College of Legazpi. Note: Word instead of World...BTW, it's SVD, not SDV.Guest818 17:46, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
We also need to delete Divine World College of Legaspi. Sorry about that!Guest818 17:48, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Let's vote for Mariano Trias edit

Hey there Coffee! I would like to ask for your vote for the article of Mariano Trias in Wikipedia's Article Creation and Improvement Drive.

I believe that this article still needs a bit of clean-up and expansion. I hope you would vote for the article in this link.

Thanks a lot!!! ---- Kevin Ray 08:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Datu Blah T. Sinsuat locator map edit

Hey, you might wanna use this as reference in creating a locator map for Datu Blah T. Sinsuat [12]. The NSCB website already has information about the barangays that now comprise Datu Blah T. Sinsuat [13], it appears to be that these are the 12 coastal barangays of Upi.Scorpion prinz 07:44, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alright. I don't have access to Photoshop right now, but I'll add this on my list-of-stuff-that-needs-to-be-done. Coffee 07:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

disambiguation for SVD edit

Hi! Help needed again...How do you do a disambiguation for SVD to include the Society of the Divine Word? - Guest818 10:45, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dauin, Negros Oriental edit

Hi, The locatormap for Dauin, Negros Oriental is not entirely correct, because Apo Island is not shown as being part of the municipality. Magalhães 11:11, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh yeah... what the heck, stupid mistake on my part, I already knew that Apo Island was part of Dauin. I'll fix the map when I get time and access to Photoshop. Coffee 07:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

locator maps for Philippine Tarsier and Chocolate Hills edit

Hi! I am wondering if you can help with locator maps for both the Philippine Tarsier and Chocolate Hills?--Pinay06 07:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... I would like to, but I don't have any sources for the locations of the tarsier or the Chocolate Hills. Coffee 07:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yehey! Both articles Philippine Tarsier and Chocolate Hills state the locations. Please let me know if I still need to list them down. Thanks much!!!--Pinay06 10:20, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
The Chocolate Hills are in the Municipalities of Carmen, Batuan and Sagbayan, + a little in Bilar, Valencia and Sierra Bullones. Maybe same color for 1st 3 municipalities, where the hills are concentrated, and a different color for the last 3.--Pinay06 10:24, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
As for the Philippine Tarsier, they are found particularly in the provinces of Bohol, Samar, Leyte, and Mindanao, Philippines, also in Maripipi, Siargo, Basilan and Dinagat.Tarsiers have also been reported in Sarangani.--Pinay06 10:27, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

BTW,its Maripipi Island, Siargao Island, Basilan Island andDinagat Island - no specified areas.--Pinay06 21:19, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Locator Map Nueva Ecija Fix edit

Hey Coffee,

I dunno if anyone mention this yet but I think you should fix the Nueva Ecija map. Notice the difference between these two maps:

ON the Tarlac map, to the right of Tarlac is Nueva Ecija. ON the Nueva Ecija map, to the left of Nueva Ecija is Pangasinan.

Perhaps, change Pangasinan to Tarlac, Benguet to Pangasinan and Tarlac to Pampanga and it should be fine.

By the way, kudos on the maps. They're great. PhilipDM 00:23, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I'll fix them when I get around to them. :p Coffee 11:16, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
