Your recent contribution(s) to Wikipedia are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at inline citations that best suits each article. Thanks!

Regarding your image contributions to Wikipedia edit

I am going through your images and finding that all of them do not have source information. As a Wikipedian, I wish to extend to you the tools that you need in order to properly contribute to Wikipedia. Therefore, I would like you to review Wikipedia's image usage policy, image copyright tags, and fair use and what does and does not apply. Right now, all of your images require this information -- if you are unable to provide it, the images will have to be removed from Wikipedia. (If you do want them removed, I can remove them for you as I have that ability as an admin.) I look forward to working with you. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 21:53, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Die Mannequin edit

The article Die Mannequin has been or soon will be deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a subject but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. • I have nominated the articles Die mannequin and Care Failure for deletion via AFD. I'm doing this only indirectly because of the unfriendly message you left on my talk page; I came to your talk page to leave a message, saw the message about these pages, and went to look at them. Deleting pages may not be the most valuable contribution, but I feel that it is an important thing to do; if non-notable material is not removed, then Wikipedia will become a miscellaneous collection of junk and not an encyclopedia. I also do other things; I frequently improve articles instead of deleting them. --Brianyoumans 18:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Let's not make this personal edit

It is Wikipedia policy to assume good intentions on the part of other editors and not to engage in personal attacks. I try to do so myself. Lots of people get signed and then get dropped before ever producing an album; I think we should wait until this band meets our requirements before having an article on them. See WP:Notability (the section on music) for reference. --Brianyoumans 19:21, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is clear that you have good intentions, however it is equally clear that you are sadly misguided... Fredio54 (talk) 17:58, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your nomination for Hunayn bin Ishaq at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hunayn bin Ishaq has been closed as a speedy keep. In the event that you are not happy with my decision to do so, you may wish to take the nomination to deletion review. However, as noted by Demiurge, disrupting Wikipedia by creating dubious AfD nominations is behaviour which is likely to result in sanctions. Please reconsider your actions. Very best wishes, Angus McLellan (Talk) 14:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Let me have a look at the history between you and Brian and I will give you my opinion on what, if anything, you can or should do about it. It will only be an opinion, so I'll try and list the other options as well, even the ones that I don't think are a good idea. Cheers ! Angus McLellan (Talk) 14:29, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I find Brian's "list of articles I've deleted" a bit odd. Still, I suspect that I've deleted (well, tagged for deletion with WP:CSD tags or WP:PROD tags or nominated at WP:AFD) more articles than I've written, and I've written a lot more than seven articles. Lots of articles get deleted every day. If you look at the deletion log, you'll see that about 100 articles were deleted in the last hour. Likely even more get deleted on school days.

As far as Die mannequin is concerned, MER-C (talk contribs) tagged it with {{db-band}} speedy deletion, NawlinWiki (talk contribs) removed that and added {{prod}}, and Seraphimblade (talk contribs) added {{prod2}}. I suspect that even if Brian had never seen the article, someone would have sent it to AfD, along with Care Failure. As for the others, Brian might have created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rüms, but that isn't what got them deleted. Writing articles on cult local bands is always difficult, given that WP:MUSIC is pretty strict. Proving that a band is a "prominent example of a local style" (or whatever the exact words are) is pretty difficult.

If you really feel that Brian Youmans is stalking you, then you should have a look at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. A request for comments would be the first place to start. As an alternative, I'd suggest that you should keep a copy of the articles in your user space (so User:Terveetkadet/Die mannequin, User:Terveetkadet/Care Failure). Just cut and paste the whole article into the "userfied" copy, removing the category labels at the bottom. You can also ask an admin to undelete and userfy the ones deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rüms. Then keep adding references and links as you come across them until you're pretty certain that they won't be deleted again and go to Wikipedia:Deletion review and get them reviewed. If you just recreate them, someone will add a speedy deletion tag because speedy deletion criteria G4 is "recreated an article which was already deleted".

I have to say that I don't think dispute resolution is going to achieve much, and that you'd be better off doing more research and going to deletion review when you are ready. I don't suppose this is very helpful. Nil carborundum! If I can be of any help, or you want an outside opinion on anything, please let me know and I'll do my best. Cheers, Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:34, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

P.S. Would you mind withdrawing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adamu Tesfaw ? There isn't much point in leaving it open, and it would look better if you withdrew it. Just add a note saying that you withdraw the nomination. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:48, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello!

You may be interested to know that WikiProject Punk music has recently undergone a major revitalization. Please visit the project page to see our new look and check out some of our helpful new features, such as the Assessment Department and the Collaboration of the week. There are also a number of tasks on our Things to do page that you may be interested in helping with.

We are currently holding a roll call to help gauge how many active project members we have. Please visit the project's talk page and add your signature to the roll sheet to express your continued interest in the project. Also, if you have not already done so, please take a minute to add your name to the Participants page along with a brief summary of your punk-related interests, so that other project members will be better able to collaborate with you. If you do not add your signature to the roll sheet by November 30, 2008 your name will be moved to our list of inactive members. We may also take the liberty of removing the project userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:WikiProject Punk music members. Of course you are free to rejoin the project and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active in the project again.

Thank you and we hope you will continue to support WikiProject Punk music!

Notability of Bryce Harper edit

A tag has been placed on Bryce Harper requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Turgan Talk 02:50, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Youth Youth Youth edit

A tag has been placed on Youth Youth Youth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your comment on User talk:Turgan edit

You recently posted a comment onTurgan's talk page in which you said "Why don't you get a life and stop trying to delete pages about baseball when you clearly are clueless about baseball?". It is more helpful in editing Wikipedia to be civil to other editors, no matter how much you disagree with their edits: in fact this principal is enshrined in the Wikipedia policy. You may like to consider this in future. It is also worth pointing out that Turgan's edit to which you objected proposed an article for deletion because it did not show notability for its subject. Subsequently the article was edited so as to show notability, and so it was not deleted. This is how Wikipedia functions: it is quite correct to question the notability of a subject if an article does not show it, and quite correct to satisfy the question by improving the article. Speedy deletion nomination of UIC (band) edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on UIC (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Please read WP:OWN; a page isn't "yours". If you submit something to wikipedia, you are agreeing to release it into the public domain, where it can be freely edited by anyone, in any way, for any purpose. If you find that articles you have created are being nominated for speedy deletion, that's usually because they don't credibly indicate the importance of the subject. I would recommend that you take a look at WP:GNG, which is our general guideline of what makes a subject notable enough to be worthy of an article. I appreciate it can be difficult to get started, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 20:00, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
You may find the following links helpful:
WP:GNGArticles usually need to meet this guideline to be notable enough for inclusion
WP:SPAMArticles and other pages which are advertisements are not acceptable and are likely to be speedily deleted
WP:NPOVWikipedia is an encyclopaedia: coverage of a topic should always be neutral. Remember to be especially careful with your edits if you have a conflict of interest with the subject.
WP:VMaterial on wikipedia needs to be verifiable. If you add something controversial, make sure you provide a reliable secondary source.
WP:RSSources need to be published by a third party to be considered reliable, and should not be a blog or user-contributed (this includes wikipedia, social networking sites, etc.)

Proposed deletion of Maddison Gabriel edit

The article Maddison Gabriel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only notable for briefly appearing in news because of 'child model'. WP:1E applies here. Was previously deleted for same reason (and nothing seems to have changed).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request reason:

I ask to be unblocked since this block is a personal attack by (talk→ BWilkins ←track). He keeps his self-righteous preaching, even going as far as commenting for me on another user's page for which I left a "thank you" note. Me and (talk→ BWilkins ←track) clearly don't get along, he has been rude with me and I asked him not to talk to me anymore. I'd prefer dealing with another editor. Still, when I commented about the fact that I didn't like him stalking me on another user's page, he responded by blocking me. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) is not objective when the subject is me, so he shouldn't be allowed to block me

Decline reason:

You've already said, I don't care about WP:COI, WP:OWN, WP:CIVIL, WP:AGF or WP:MINOR; however, you should at least consider WP:NOTTHEM when you're trying to get unblocked. --jpgordon::==( o ) 22:35, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I asked to be unblocked cause a large part of this comes from a conflict between me and (talk→ BWilkins ←track) and already asked (talk→ BWilkins ←track) not to talk to me anymore as we clearly don't get along and I swear that I have no intention of talking to (talk→ BWilkins ←track) anymore so there won't be problems like this anymore on my side. I will not talk with users with which I don't get along so that should settle the problem

Decline reason:

You may not care about our policies on user conduct, ownership of articles, and so forth, but the rest of us do. Throw WP:BATTLE in there too. As MuZemike said below, Bwilkins actually went pretty easy on you, I would have issued a much longer block. Your currently block is more than warranted, and I am surprised, given from your previous conduct, that it was not longer. –MuZemike 22:53, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Also, what you need to understand is that these are all open talk pages; there is nothing prohibiting other users from making other remarks, provided they are within proper decorum (with respect to [9]); it is within your right to also remove remarks from your own talk page. If you prefer private one-on-one conversation, you can accomplish that by using email. –MuZemike 23:00, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This talk page is becoming very long. Please consider archiving. (after the block expires of course) Beeblebrox (talk) 05:38, 20 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Phillippe Aumont edit

Thanks for the pic of Phillippe Aumont. Do you have anymore photos of baseball players you could share? I was hoping for a gallery on your personal page, but I don't see one. Oaktree b (talk) 23:50, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rachel McKinnon edit

Hi. I was about to give you a warning but then I checked your edit history and saw that you have been around for a while and so maybe your edit to Rachel McKinnon was intended to be helpful. I've removed it but I'm not going to give you a warning template. Instead, I just want to let you know that Wikipedia policy is to only include the birthnames/deadnames of trans people when they were notable under those names. In most other cases, including the deadname can be considered a form or harassment or even doxxing. It is not hard to find what are claimed to the deadnames of even only moderately notable trans people online because people with a grudge against either specific trans people or (quite often) trans people in general delight in publishing them solely for the distress and annoyance which they can cause. Such hateful screeds do not count as reliable sources. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:28, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
