Your recent edits

Hi. Your recent edits in articles such as Tamil Brahmin and Iyengar involved changing the language parameter from Tamil (which is the actual thing to be listed there) to Brahmin Tamil (which is only a dialect, similar to numerous dialects spoken across the Tamil land). Since this is incorrect and does not belong under the language parameter, these have been reverted. For instance, to put things into perspective, Tamil is the language spoken in the cities of Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, etc.) and we don't list them as Madras Bashai, Madurai Tamil, or Kongu Tamil under them. The language of both United Kingdom and Australia will be listed in their respective articles as English, not as British English or Australian English. The dialects are only mentioned in the body of the articles under their "language" section as an additional info. Hope this makes sense. Please discuss on the talk page before changing. Thank you. Yes I understand, in that case Tamil and Sanskrit should be there side by side. Sanskrit has a rather important role in the linguistic identities of Brahmins especially Tamil Brahmins. Temporary 1010 (talk) 20:34, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
