Semi-Protection of The

edit

Hi TehPhil, thanks for your contributions. You recently attempted to Semiprotect the article The. So you know only admins can protect or semi-protect pages. The proper thing to do in that situation is to remove the vandalism and if semiprotection is necessary, report it to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Keep editing and be bold.--Joe Jklin (T C) 20:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Connor McCreaddie Article

At the very least, don't add content to Wikipedia about a living person that could affect their real-world reputation without a proper source to back it up. Leebo86 21:24, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I added the the article you mentioned as a source. That's all you have to do. The policies associated with biographies of living persons are quite strict about presenting sources for information in biographies. Regardless, you shouldn't add any information to Wikipedia without a source to prove that it's verifiable. Just keep it in mind in the future. It may have been misunderstood as an attack because the article did not make it clear that this had been covered in the news (thus satisfying notability guidelines). It looked like an article about an obese 8 year old. Leebo86 16:41, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. Sorry if I sounded harsh. The article is a good stub, a perfectly good start to an article. Thanks for the contribution! Leebo86 19:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:Fantastic-four-20060829101843035.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Fantastic-four-20060829101843035.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Blob-houseofM.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Blob-houseofM.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Old Raw 19:28, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of songs in Rock Band

edit

I've reverted your edits here, as the information you claim as speculation comes straight from Harmonix (the developers). I've noticed you've made edits to this section for similar reasons before. Is there a particular issue you have with the sources that are being used? Both Nevermind and Who's Next have been mentioned repeatedly between the initial annoucement and today, and if you feel there's a need for a better source please let us know. -- TRTX T / C 15:03, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Klaw 002.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Klaw 002.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:31, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:New-warriors-20070604090645021.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:New-warriors-20070604090645021.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
