Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:06, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Angus Robertson. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:12, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing, for a period of 24 hours, for Edit-warring at Angus Robertson. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. I suggest that you try some of the suggestions at WP:DISPUTE for determining whether the best version of this article would include this information or not. I'll be watching the article, and I expect that the next change made will be one which has clear consensus on the talk page. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:32, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

If I revert to a previous edition and I start a discussion can the other person undo my edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Techtink (talkcontribs)
The rules do not allow either of you to repeatedly revert others' edits. Instead, you're expected to stop reverting and decide on the best version of the article. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:32, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Let's say someone adds in a politically motivated content. I remove it and then start a discussion. Can that person then undo my edit without even properly discussing the issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Techtink (talkcontribs)
There is no exception to the rule against edit-warring, because, as you've discovered, it is both disruptive and pointless- no one ever wins an edit-war. Instead, you stop reverting and decide together on the version that best follows Wikipedia policies. If that doesn't work, there are lots of suggestions at WP:DISPUTE that can help resolve content disagreements without edit-warring. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:36, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
But why is the article kept in the state where the controversial content added still remains there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Techtink (talkcontribs)
You can sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) if you don't want me to have to keep signing them. I don't know which of you is correct at the moment, so I'm content to let you reach a consensus on it with other users when your block expires. Administrators joke that, no matter when you stop an edit war, someone will always say you left the article on the "wrong version." It's entirely possible that someone with an interest in Scottish politics has the article on his or her watchlist and will make any adjustments that are necessary. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:47, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Say someone adds some content, I remove it. Then a discussion takes place whether the disputed content gets readded or not? Techtink (talk) 22:51, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
You both made the decision to edit-war rather than working it out like adults. You were fairly warned that you were about to be blocked for that. Now, you're both blocked, because you both made a decision to be blocked. Tomorrow, you both get to decide again. Until then, neither of you will be editing the article in question. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:53, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
The Angus McLellanadministrator reverted the other user to remove the disputed material. The disputed content should be removed before a discussion can take place.Techtink (talk) 22:55, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
