I'll get to your message on my talk page in a little bit, but wanted to point out a minor error in the article you're writing in your sandbox. Under the "Concept" section it states "programs recorded on acetate discs and offered to local advertisers in each radio market". This isn't wholly accurate. First, "acetate" is an incorrect term. There are "acetate" discs, but they are VERY uncommon. The term you are looking for is "lacquer". However, even this isn't accurate. Most Ziv transcriptions are pressed in vinyl, and aren't individually-cut lacquer discs. For one thing, not only was pressing vinyl more cost-efficient, vinyl is considerably lighter (think less postage costs) than aluminum-based lacquer discs, and vinyl was less prone to damage. Hi Eddie. Thanks for the tip about refs on John Shelton (actor). I added comments on the Talk page and put in some contemporary references. That was hard genealogical research!! As soon as you mentioned it, I was initially convinced that combining all the various current references to marriages was a big mistake. One which I would not do in my genealogy research. However, I have worked with oral history and decided to assume that some sort of documentation could be found for all five. That was fun. Hope you will accept the Hedda Hopper reference :) I left the reference template at the top, you can remove it if you think it meets the criterion. Thanks again for the tone of your comment. Tip of the day monitoring
Hi.
I noticed your comments over at the TOTD department, giving us a heads up on some tips, and it looks like you are a fan of the tips and read them fairly often.
So I was wondering if you would be willing to read the tip a day in advance, to provide an early warning for problems in tips about to go live.
In case you are interested, there is the template {{totd-tomorrow}}, which displays the upcoming tip for tomorrow.
You can place it anywhere on your user pages you want. On my talk page, I include the current tip and tomorrow's tip as a footnote at the bottom of the page, by inserting this this code anywhere on the page:
<ref>{{totd}}</br>{{right|{{today cell}}{{spaces|5}}}}{{totd-tomorrow}}</ref>
This floats the tips below all messages. Where they catch my attention everytime I check for messages.

To remove them from the bottom of your page, remove the line with reference, directly above.

- I have read the pages, and here are my thoughts.
- King University Tornados: Avoid just copying content (as you noted at the end of each paragraph). If you must used the wording of another source, enclose it in quotation marks and use standard Wikipedia citations to refer to the book, web page, or whatever it came from. Unless you need exact wording, however, it's better to paraphrase (but you still need a citation).
- Daemen College Wildcats: Spell out the name of the conference rather than using ECC. Many people will not know what the abbreviation stands for. If you refer to the conference later, the abbreviation will be all right. Also, you need to have sources on this one, and add more details to the text.
- Cedarville University Yellow Jackets: The lead contains a typographical error ("mempership"). Spell out "National Christian College Athletic Association" the first time you use it. I first thought that "NCCAA" was a typographical error of the better-known NCAA; I assume that many other readers would think the same thing. And spell out the organization that AMC stands for when you first refer to it.
- Cheney University Wolves: Spell out what "PSAC" stands for the first time you refer to it. In the "Basketball" section, explain how this Division II school participated in the Division I tournament. Reference 2 uses a Wikipedia page, which is prohibited. That will leave you with one reference, which is not good. Look for additional independent, reliable sources for the information in your article. Also, use a "cite" template to revise the first reference. Plain URL addresses should not be used.

- I don't know how to reply to you directly. When you leave a message for someone, you should end it with four tildes, which will automatically provide your user name and a link to your talk page. As for the deletion nomination, once an article is proposed for deletion, the decision is made by others -- not by the one who proposed it. Black Museum 2015 edit- production
Hi there. Back in 2015 you removed the original source for The Black Museum and inserted a "produced by the BBC" line without quoting a source. Unfortunately there are many incorrect citations for this and other programs produced by Harry Towers, many of them alas American - the program was first broadcast in the USA. Helpfully the BBC have made available online a database of all of their radio programs up to about 1995. This indicates that they did not broadcast The Black Museum until 1991. The BBC Charter set them up as a none-commercial radio station, and in the 1950s their productions were for broadcast for themselves - not purely for resale. In more recent years we have had a standalone associated commercial company BBC Worldwide. In Europe The Black Box was broadcast on Radio Luxembourg.
Unfortunately although you were undoubtedly using a source you considered reliable, in no way could it be correct. The BBC simply could not do that then. The original text you removed was correct in saying that the program was incorrectly cited in some sources as a BBC program.
His Guardian obituary states Towers was born in London. While serving in the RAF during the second world war, he wrote many radio plays under the name Peter Welbeck, a pseudonym he used from time to time as a scriptwriter throughout his career. Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 805 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.
Technology update:

- The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

- On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
- Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.

Chicago Tribune archive
Just thought I'd let you know that the free archive is gone. The link we have to it now forwards to Newspapers.com. The Tribune has apparently turned all of this over to them. You're able to buy a "Chicago Tribune" only subscription from them and if you have a Newspapers.com subscription, the Tribune is included in that. I stumbled on this last night when I clicked one of the older (free) links. The bad thing is that all ref links made when the archive was free don't work. I'll be trying to find all articles where I've used the free links over about 2 years and replace them with clippings from Newspapers.com. This happened in the last couple of months or so as I see the free links were working in August. We hope (talk) 13:27, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- @We hope:I stumbled across that change last night, too. I was doing a search on Google for sources for a possible article and, like you, clicking on a Chicago Tribune link led me to their part of the Newspapers.com site. I was sorry to see that, but I suppose it was inevitable. I remember that soon after I discovered the free Tribune search feature someone (possibly you) commented that it probably would eventually convert to a paid service. I wish I had learned about archiving pages earlier. Now when I use a newspaper site like The New York Times or The Washington Post for a source, I create a copy at the Internet Archive or a similar site. Thanks for writing; it's good to hear from you. - The site made it clear that at some point, they would begin charging for access from my first visit on. But they never said when that might be or how much they would charge for it. I think the Tribune decided that turning it all over to a newspaper archiving company would mean less work for them. BTW, if the site allows crawlers and you get "caught short", you can try to see if the Wayback Machine crawled the page previously. Try entering the URL in the top search box at Wayback Machine; more often than not I can find a link like that.
- Still waiting for someone to put the 2 major Milwaukee newspapers back online. They disappeared from Google News over a year ago. Did some research and learned there's apparently a legal issue. The Milwaukee Public Library helped an archiving service with copies of the paper the archive service didn't have. When they were complete, the library was asked to buy access to the newspaper databases they helped create. The same thing happened with two of the Palm Beach newspapers, but I was able to find they'd moved to Newspapers.com. We hope (talk) 14:36, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- @We hope: That's a strange legal twist about the Milwaukee newspapers. I hadn't heard about that. I'm still waiting for access to the Publisher Extra newspapers with my Newspapers.com account through Wikipedia. - I'd ask about it because I have the Publishers Extra on my account and it's just great! It includes the Chicago Tribune so what I'm able to do now is search for the missing news articles and fix the links to them. We hope (talk) 15:27, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

- Why not leave a note at Cameron11598's talk page? According to this those with subscriptions would get an e-mail asking if you'd like the upgrade. I didn't because it was around this time my subscription was up for renewal-new/renewed accounts automatically are for "full" subscriptions. ArbCom 2017 election voter message
Hello, Teblick. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

New Years new page backlog drive
Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!
We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
