I'm not even sure it's possible to delete the edit history of the IP address. I don't think you need to worry about it. I do not and cannot know your IP address, in fact there are only a few people who have this ability. If you don't tell anyone what IP address you were using, the only way to find out is if someone requests a checkuser. On the other hand, if you spend a lot of time editing the same article(s) under your user name that you did with the IP address, someone might suspect that you had used a certain IP (but again, they wouldn't be able to tell for sure without a checkuser). Hope this helps, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

P.S. If you are not still using the same IP address when you log in, then even a checkuser wouldn't turn up anything. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't even want to edit anything anyone lol, I usually edited things that I thought were unfair, when it came to particular things I liked. But it is not in my right to do that any longer. But isn't it dangerous if someone does know the IP though? So there is no way possible at all for it to be deleted? Wow. Is there anyway to change Ips though? do I go to my subscriber? sorry for overwhelming you with so many questions, but I've been hearing a lot about ips and hacking lately. --User:TeamHorn

All I can recommend is that you make sure that the computer and LAN that you used are both secure. The former means keeping your antivirus software up-to-date, using strong passwords etc.; the latter will probably involve checking with whoever maintains the network you're using (your ISP if you're at home, or your LAN administrator if you're at work, school, etc.) There was a time when you could have your anonymous IP edits moved to your user account's history (see Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit) but this effort has been inactive for 2 years (and the idea behind it was that you wanted to be associated with your anonymous edits). Sorry, but I'm not sure what else I can tell you. Note that Wikimedia's Privacy Policy states that "when you edit any page in the wiki, you are publishing a document. This is a public act, and you [or your IP address is] identified publicly with that edit as its author." -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:53, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
