Orphaned non-free media (File:KZLS station logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:KZLS station logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 23:51, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, and a question
Thanks for your devoted attention to American radio station articles.
I am curious about why you add "currently" to the present tense. "The station is owned by...." and "The station is currently owned by...." mean exactly the same thing. What does "currently" add to the present tense? Ground Zero | t 02:35, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
- I guess it doesn't really add anything. Most of the stations that I have created articles on have had more than one owner since they came on the air, so its just a way of saying that they are the owner at the time of writing. I guess the word is unnecessary. --Tdl1060 (talk) 02:47, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
- I see now. I don't know if readers are going to read between the lines in that way. If there was a previous owner, it would be clearer to state that explicitly, rather than to imply it. Regards, Ground Zero | t 03:21, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:WIOE station logo.png
A tag has been placed on File:WIOE station logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Edit war at Independent Greeks
Hello Tdl1060,
Your recent editing history at Independent Greeks shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --RJFF (talk) 10:56, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

WFME (AM)
Hello Tdl1060, I need your help. I wonder if I'm really doing something wrong in the article WFME (AM), because a IP are reverting my editions (see the history). I just change the wrong content, because, according the IP, Radio Disney "Announced" the sale of WQEW (WFME) to Family Radio (when the radio network never did, did not even issued a statement, was announced by "Radio Disney New York" which it is another company but both associated with Disney). Radio Disney is owned by Disney Channels Worldwide and Radio Disney New York (former licensee of the station) was directly owned by The Walt Disney Company and was who informed the sale of the station on the FCC database. The name is confusing in certain cases like that because, despite having a connection by the name, are two different companies. Also, the IP changes on the "affiliation" line the current affiliation for the previous affiliation (Normally the current affiliation appears, not the previous. I do not want to end up causing an edit war and end blocked (which I hope will not happen again, because I have a case). Best regards! --Mega-buses (discusión / Talk) 06:45, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- I corrected the wording regarding the manner in which the sale of the station was announced and restored the current affiliation to the infobox. I don't see anything wrong with your changes regarding the sale of the station, as your wording was more accurate. As far as the affiliation listed in the infobox is concerned, former affiliations do frequently appear in the infoboxes of TV stations but not those of radio stations. There is no parameter for former affiliations in the infobox template for radio stations like there is with TV stations, though perhaps there should be. Until there is a parameter for former affiliations, I think it is best that only the current affiliation is listed in the infobox, though I don't see any serious harm in listing former affiliations as long as the years of the affiliation are made clear.--Tdl1060 (talk) 07:40, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Thank you
Because many of my edits are to cities and towns in the southern United States, your recent edits have been popping up on my watchlist. As you may know, but much of the mess you've been working on recently was created by a lone vandal, user:Futurewiki (aka user:104.243.169.127, user:104.243.167.109, User:Futuristic21, User:Dragonrap2, User:Futurewiki2, User:Mega256, User:Futurewiki The Third, User:Mega257, User:Mega258, and User:Futurew). "Template:Alexandria Radio: Revision history"
I see that you reverted an edit to "Template:Alexandria Radio" by user "Mr. Jazz, Rhythm & Blues". If you look at the edit history of that template you'll see it has been a favorite of a notorious sockpuppet User:Futurewiki (aka User:Futuristic21). I'm not an expert on radio stations in Louisiana, but if Mr. Jazz's edits seem a bit too kooky or too similar to that page's past sockpuppet edits, please let me know. Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 02:14, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: They do seem quite similar to User:Futurewiki and their sockpuppets and I was weighing reporting it as a sock, but I decided to wait until their is more solid evidence. All of their edits thus far have been to add stations to the navboxes of the radio markets of Louisiana and nearby states, which have been a favorite topic of Futurewiki and their socks, and the fact that they italicized the frequencies of most of their out of market additions make me pretty confident that this is in fact User:Futurewiki. Most of the stations that they added did not cover the markets represented by these navboxes, and I have removed the stations that did not belong. I plan to closely monitor "Mr. Jazz, Rhythm & Blues"'s edits and I will let you know if a smoking gun emerges.--Tdl1060 (talk) 02:57, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: It seems Mr. Jazz, Rhythm & Blues is in fact a sockpuppet, but of User:Baseballman93.100, not User:Futurewiki, as this hoax edit indicates. User:Baseballman93.100 and its sockpuppets do share a few of the same editing patterns as User:Futurewiki (aka User:Dragonrap2, aka User:123lilbrad), but they do not appear to be the same person. I have opened a sockpuppet investigation on Mr. Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, as well as Mr.OldiesMusic'40s,'50s&'60s, which also made the same hoax edit to WTGE's article.--Tdl1060 (talk) 02:23, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of KHLW
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on KHLW requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. bojo1498 talk 15:42, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

What's "wrong" with alternet citation? 127W111 (talk) 08:39, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
- 127W111, it was the use of the source, in a BLP, that was problematic. AlterNet is open about their ideological bias [1], and the page used as a reference was an opinion piece, not an objective news report. An opinion piece making a certain assertion is not an acceptable source for stating that assertion as a fact in an article, especially when the article is a BLP.--Tdl1060 (talk) 20:49, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
David Dao
Tdl1060, I noticed in the now-deleted history of that article this revert--admins only-- of yours. The article was deleted for BLP issues, and I hope you understand that such content (which essentially blames the victim for something in their past which had nothing to do with the incident) is simply not acceptable. You were warned of ArbCom-sanctioned sanctions in BLPs (the note is still on your talk page), and I trust that you will take this opportunity to reflect on why this was a violation. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:36, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Drmies: Duly noted. If I had it to do over again, I would not have made that edit, and would have instead confined my concerns to the talk page. I am in complete agreement that this content had no place in the article on the incident, where it was rightfully removed, as it does have nothing to do with the incident.--Tdl1060 (talk) 21:06, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Please do not revert the change made by me.Because there is any official fact or document that proves that Nagorno-Karabakh has a status of Republic. Please consider this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_status_of_Nagorno-Karabakh
- @Aysel1111: One of your changes is to an image title, which prevents the image from being properly displayed. Another change is to a reference, and the third is merely stating the article subject's official name between 1991 and 2017. None of these uses of the word "Republic" make any assertion either way as to its legitimacy.--Tdl1060 (talk) 07:46, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
But it leads to misunderstanding between readers as well as introducing incorrect information to them.
- @Aysel1111: Of the content you changed, the only use of the word "republic" that would be read by readers is "also known by its official name between 1991 and 2017, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic". That does not introduce incorrect information to them, as that was the article subject's official name at that time. That does not make any claim as to whether they meet the criteria of a republic, or whether they are the legitimate government of the territory they control. In fact, the latter part of that sentence does state that the territory they control is "internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan".--Tdl1060 (talk) 07:37, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Calvary Radio Network
Can you find them on the website because those are not on the website anymore?
- @Delcity: In the about us section of their website, they say that they are heard on "13 full-power FM broadcast stations and several translators". Each station that was removed is still owned by Calvary Radio Network and simulcasts WCJL Morgantown, Indiana. You can hear each station's call sign announced at the top of the hour if you listen to WCJL's stream on their website.--Tdl1060 (talk) 02:03, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

KPPC
Wanted to let you know I cleared another "defunct station" merger by myself. After figuring out all of its unique content pertained to the FM, I merged KPPC (defunct) into KROQ-FM. Then I learned that the KPPC AM station had no article, so I wrote KPPC (AM) too — what a fascinating history! Raymie (t • c) 04:22, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Raymie: Nice work. Right now I'm working on KROQ (1500 AM). After that, I'll try working on KDLD/KACD-FM (defunct).--Tdl1060 (talk) 04:49, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- The KDLD one has a nice level of overlap already. User:Raymie/Defunct station renames is my to-do list, basically, and you'd be welcome to edit it too. Raymie (t • c) 04:57, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Raymie: I picked KDLD to do next because I would like to expand the coverage of the history of the stations before they began to simulcast and see if a separate article for KDLE would be warranted. After all, they were programmed separately for 30 years. Plus, Indie 103.1 should probably be merged into KDLD as well.--Tdl1060 (talk) 07:20, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Since Radio Pakistan Toronto is carried on over-the-air broadcast station CJSA-FM in Toronto, my suggestion would be to redirect the whole thing to the CJSA-FM article. Add some information regarding Radio Pakistan Toronto somewhere in CJSA-FM's article. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:33 on May 15, 2019 (UTC)
- @Neutralhomer: Done. However, I only added a brief mention of Radio Pakistan Toronto to CJSA-FM's article amongst the other programs carried on the station, because it's only one of many programs carried on the station, and is no more notable than any of the others.--Tdl1060 (talk) 05:18, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
- That's what I figured you would probably have to do. Good work! :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 07:07 on May 15, 2019 (UTC)

Resource you might find helpful
Hello fellow radio station article aficionado...
So, a bunch of years ago, I came across a website (I think as a Google search result) that was interesting. The focus of the guy who ran it was streaming radio, back in the days before every station had an online feed. But it was a side project that he'd done that caught my eye — he'd had a bee in his bonnet about concentration of ownership, and had done a bunch of work to figure out (at least for the big companies) which licensees belonged to which company. I found it really helpful in some navbox and categorization work that I was doing, and actually reached out to him a couple of times when I found connections that he'd missed. He used that info to update his databases, and an occasional collaboration was born.
I touch base with him every once in a while. He's an ex-Wikipedian — got turned off by some of the approach to things back about a decade ago — but he still has a lot of respect for the work that people put in, and he's interested in helping people keep it up to date. He updates his database daily based on the FCC info, so it's a unique opportunity to uncover interesting stuff. For example, a few years back, he built a page on his site for me that just tracks call sign changes — makes it a whole lot easier to jump on those before people have a chance to mess them up (particularly swaps).
Most recently, he was telling me that he's doing a station-by-station review of his data, as some of the non-FCC stuff has gotten stale. We talked about how that could spin off, and as a result, he's built a page that summarizes the changes he's making. Alongside that, he's actually able to identify where some of the info on Wikipedia for the station is outdated or missing. It pops up a range of stuff - articles that haven't been created is a lot of it right now, but also dead/missing/outdated websites, streams, licensees, formats, branding, etc.
I know that I see your name pop up pretty regularly in the context of the same gnomish type of stuff I work on — article moves, redirects, and the like. Not sure how much you do in the way of article creation or if there's any magic in how you decide what you want to work on, but if you're interested, this page is helpful. It'll give you website addresses and formats without having to go looking for them, so you can flesh out the basic FCC information more easily.
So, if you'd like to give it a look or use it, you'll find it at https://streamingradioguide.com/adm/change-list.php. Check the "Include Editor" and "Wikipedia needs update" boxes at the top of the page, and it'll filter the list down to just the stuff that's relevant for us. Then, if you create an article or update the incorrect/outdated information, just check the box in the "Fixed?" column for that row, and then click the Update button and it'll go away. Don't check that otherwise, though. :>)
I'm not listing this on the project page right now — only on the talk pages of some of the more experienced editors who I'm confident won't mess things up for him. But if you get some use out of it, let me know — I'm sure he'd be interested if usage spreads beyond just me. I'm only one man with only so much time... Mlaffs (talk) 23:34, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mlaffs: Thanks! That's definitely a resource I will use.--Tdl1060 (talk) 01:06, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
KVDO-TV
After analyzing the sources in more depth, what I've actually found is that instead of having its own article, KVDO-TV should actually be handled as a section within the overall history of KIII (the still-existing station which was launched after KVDO's owners scored a VHF license to compensate for KVDO's failure on UHF) rather than as a standalone topic of its own. I've revised my vote in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KVDO-TV accordingly, from "keep" to "redirect", and have already fully integrated the KVDO content into the KIII article. Would you be willing to come reconsider your "per Bearcat" vote in light of the new evidence? Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 00:25, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Bearcat: FCC history cards also verify that KIII was a revival of KVDO, so I agree with redirecting the page to KIII.--Tdl1060 (talk) 00:58, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
I added [2] to the KXWI article; is Marks Radio Group the owner and Williston Community Broadcasting the licensee? I'm not sure so I will let you make changes if appropriate. By the way, there is a wikipedia article for Marks Radio Group. User:Rudy2alan talk
- I can answer this. Rudy2alan, you have it correct. Marks Radio Group is the owner and Williston Community Broadcasting the licensee. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 16:03 on September 10, 2019 (UTC)

WEPN
I had seen someone post on YouTube their recording of a station ID mentioning both stations. Unfortunately I have yet to find a source that mentions what happened (but thenagain radio articles have a bad reputation for OR/etc. to begin with) ViperSnake151 Talk 05:17, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
- @ViperSnake151: I have seen that video. Apparently they are simulcasting during the periods when ESPN Deportes Network programming used to air, but the Spanish-language local brokered sports programming continues to air. From listening to the station via TuneIn, the station is still being identified as ESPN Deportes during the Spanish language shows. Over the air, all I've been able to get at home tonight on AM 1050 is KLOH and CHUM.--Tdl1060 (talk) 06:05, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
