Say Hello edit

Hi there. Welcome. I know that Wikipedia can seem pretty confusing at first, so please come and say hello for some help to get you started. (Note - you might want to RIGHT click on that, and open in in a new tab or something - and when you get there, please wait a few minutes for a reply)  Chzz  ►  22:15, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Hi, Tboned208. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  22:15, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

A reply to your email and a warning edit

Hi, removing sourced and verifiable content with your own unsourced materiel, or own research, is not acceptable. All content should be well sourced (read WP:SOURCE). Especially when that material contains things such as "Knocking out people who write lies about the club on Wikipedia", and you would appear to have a conflict of interest, which may prevent you from writing in a unbiased, clear way which shows all sides to the argument. Also, I presume that you were the IP address that I previously reverted, which added "who ever keeps writing this crap is going to get a foot stuck up their ass", this is unacceptable, and not in the style of this encyclopedia. In answer to your other question, no I did not originally add the content. - Kingpin13 (talk) 05:22, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's great that you're willing to learn about our policies, and that you want to help. One of the most important things is, like I already said, that all information is verifiable. So if you "know" something, even if it's true, you must give it a reliable, secondary source. - Kingpin13 (talk) 14:15, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I guess it's okay to remove dubious unsourced content, but I better approach would be to tag it with {{FACT}} for a week or so, and remove it if it's still unsourced after that. You may also want to check the current sources in the article (the links that are under References) - Kingpin13 (talk) 15:42, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
