Thank you.

A tag has been placed on OnWire Consulting Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Arctic Kangaroo 15:32, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of OnWire Consulting Group edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on OnWire Consulting Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mean as custard (talk) 16:36, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notes edit

First, Wikipedia is not here to act as a back up for when your website is down. You can set up an alternative page at Wordpress, Facebook or MySpace to do that. Second, the article was promotional. Please read WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) and WP:SPAM. Third, the article did not show real significance by our standard - see WP:CORP and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove it. Fourth, you do not create accounts for the purpose of removing the speedy deletion tags your account is not allowed to remove. This is an abuse of multiple accounts, and I have blocked the User:Lakersfan121492 account as it was obviously created for this purpose. I have not blocked this account as I could have, but I do not recommend reposting the article. Peridon (talk) 16:58, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

You reposted before I finished here. Take note of what I have posted above. Peridon (talk) 17:00, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Can you help me make the necessary changes so that the page won't be promotional. In all honesty, I don't see how it's promotional at all - it's just stating facts about the company, gives a timeline, and then talks about who we service and what we specialize in. Any adivce you could give would be great!

First, it's YOUR company so you need to read WP:COI and WP:Spam. Then you need to cite independent references to show its notability per WP:Notability. . . Mean as custard (talk) 17:07, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Offering "consulting services for IBM Tivoli Security" is not really likely to have gained anything much in the way of independent review or coverage. I could be wrong. But if you are so desperate about your website being down, do what I suggested. We are not free web hosts. Those sites I mentioned, and AboutUs as well, do provide one form or another of free web hosting. There is not the problem over notability there that there is here. Please remember that this is an encyclopaedia, not a directory. Not every company gets in. This is no reflection on your company - some of the ones that do have articles would very much like not to have them. Companies do not own the articles about them, and cannot stop well sourced material being posted that is not what they want people to know. On those other sites, so long as you are not libelling anyone or advocating illegal practices, you can post pretty much what you want. If you think you can make it through the policies here, it may not be a quick process as you will have to do the research and then rewrite the text - you cannot just copy and paste text from other places. Even if you wrote it, if it's been published already, it can't be used here. Peridon (talk) 17:31, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
