License tagging for Image:Brandy02.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Brandy02.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Image:Normal_bvibe.jpg listed for deletion

edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Normal_bvibe.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. I noticed that you commented on this deletion on the image talk page. Discussion is currently going on at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Because the image is not used anywhere on Wikipedia, it is not clear why Wikipedia should host the image for you. If it is an image of an actual magazine cover, then:
  • The source should explain that and include the publication date - currently the source is a fansite
  • The licensing should be {{Non-free magazine cover}}, since the publisher of the magazine retains the copyright. If it is tagged as such, then it is permitted only under the Fair Use policy.
I hope that this explanation has been helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. ~ BigrTex 16:18, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
