William J. Worth article

edit

Hello. An edit summary explaining that the image that was previously in the William J. Worth article was not of Worth, and was instead of Twiggs, would have solved the problem. That would have worked much better than the extremely vague "Image update" edit summary that you used, which makes it seem as though you just swapped pictures for the heck of it, hence justifying my revert. In the future, it would be helpful if you were more concise. Display name 99 (talk) 21:29, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

In the future, my dear friend User:Display name 99, please do check what you revert, as you are confusing not only yourself but also readers. It's funny how instead of merely joking about accidentally making a fool of yourself here William J. Worth: Difference between revisions, you come to my page and accuse me in setting you up. Thank you very much, I see that you are a very kind, down to earth person. --Taterian (talk) 21:54, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
I didn't make a fool of myself. I simply noted that you did not provide a reason for changing the image, as all editors should do. Display name 99 (talk) 00:56, 27 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ye-a, don't bother, I understand that you are just trying to be a nice guy... --Taterian (talk) 01:04, 27 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

The daguerreotype is definitely General William J. Worth and NOT General David E. Twiggs. If you would actually look at images of Worth on the Web, you would find many lithographs taken from this particular image. I cite this web page as one particular example: http://www.fwtx.com/articles/general-william-jenkins-worth. The label in NARA is wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OBlevins (talkcontribs) 02:37, 5 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please let them know as NARA is one of the last bulwarks of credibility in a current post-truth world. --Taterian (talk) 01:42, 9 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading the painting of J. T. Elliston! Any chance you could upload this one please?Zigzig20s (talk) 04:34, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bad choice as it a painted over photograph on hardboard; instead you got a legit by Cooper. --Taterian (talk) 05:08, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
