August 2018 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Draft:Sirio Berati. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Sirioberati/Sirio Berati edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Sirioberati/Sirio Berati, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Sirio Berati edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Sirio Berati, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". My IP address is shared by many people as we are connected to the Internet via a proxy server. I didn't know what I was doing as I was just trying to add unbiased information based on online resources and magazines about Sirio Berati. Even though my username is Sirioberati, I do not represent the entity. The entity is a public figure and it is as well supported by https://g.co/kgs/XKvHAi. I'm sorry to have caused this trouble and impede my fellow friends from contributing to Wikipedia. It will never happen again. Please, accept my apology! I suspect you are using a translation program to write your responses, as your reply is confusing to me. You state "I do not represent Sirio Berati" and then state "I'm working for representing him", both of which cannot be true at the same time. Please clarify this(it doesn't need to be an unblock request and can be a simple statement). You are most welcome to contribute here, but if you have difficulty with English, you may feel more comfortable editing the Wikipedia version in your native language. 331dot (talk) 17:05, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Im extremely sorry. What I meant by working is not working as being payed by the entity himself but Im rather working on wikipedia articles out of my free will to contribute in showcasing his works. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taniaferrero (talkcontribs) 17:18, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Do you understand the reasons your draft has been declined? Athaenara do you have any concerns? 331dot (talk) 17:51, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
The block wasn't on an IP address, and it wasn't for "self promotion", it was for blatant promotion and advertising. He's obviously still interested in writing about only one subject here, and for the purpose of promoting that subject, not building the encyclopedia as such. – Athaenara 18:16, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I understand that my draft was declined because It was more of a self promotion article. I understand that in order for a Wiki article to be considered for submission it has to be edited by different community members, allowing to givie in this way alternative stances which would help on preventing bias information. However, when I wrote the article, I provided many sources from well known Albanian portals, his spotify tracklist, his verified google account, knowledge (portal) graph etc. I quotet some of his interviews as well. Is this not sufficient backing information for an artist? I as well mentioned his notable works which won the first price in the ntional scale competiotion of emerging artists in the UK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taniaferrero (talkcontribs) 17:58, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If those are the only sources available, I believe that this person would not merit an article, as you have already been told. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources state about article subjects. Social media accounts and interviews are not independent sources. Is there any other subject that you want to write about? 331dot (talk) 18:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Per the blocking admin's comments above, in order to unblock you I think you will need to agree to not edit about Sirio Berati and state what it is you would like to edit about instead. 331dot (talk) 18:42, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Im still confudes. Please, take a look at this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvana_Gjata. 90% of the sources come from Teksteshqip.com which is an Albanian alterantive to Genius. How is this an indipendent source, and reliable? I have sourced many of his artowkrs, paintings, sculptures as well. I have documentation of his awards, which are only on paper and not online. Sirio as well is a vogue photograpoher showcasing his work in vogue.it and a youtuber. Sirio has published an online book, has been a human rights activist localy in his college where he has held Amnesty International Workshops in collaboration with Amnesty International. As well, he has participated politically in the UK by helping in the 2018 Election Campauign for the Conservatives. What's the difference between Elvana Gjata and him in sourcing? There is more constructed information in my opinion for Sirio in the sourcing than in her page. Anyways, if still that's the case and you believe that Sirio does not merit an article, what can be done in the future? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taniaferrero (talkcontribs) 18:58, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for finding another article that may not be appropriate; however, whether it is or not is irrelevant as other things exist. Each article is judged on its own merits. I suspect any local Amnesty International work would not have sufficient coverage to merit him an article. The same goes for any political activism in the UK; in the US where I live, hundreds of thousands of people work on campaigns, almost all of them would not merit articles. I really don't see a pathway to an article about this person at this time. That doesn't mean there can't be one in the future if things change, just not right now. If there is nothing else you want to write about at this time, I would suggest that you withdraw your request to be unblocked, as you will not be unblocked to write about someone who would not merit an article. 331dot (talk) 19:09, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for your time! You have been extremly nice! I will try and see what happens in the future. I just want to make sure, so no websites, no blogs, no newspapers, what do I cite? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taniaferrero (talkcontribs) 19:23, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Type ~~~~ at the end of your posts on talk pages. If you don't have that key on your keyboard, there is a button at the top of the edit window that looks like a scribble, clicking that will add the same thing. 331dot (talk) 00:08, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
