Not sure what's going on here (or rather not going on), but I thought you should know. 64.126.24.11 19:13, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello Tangotango and thanks for your good wishes in the last fortnight. It's heartening to see you back in action.As you know, I don't eat birthday cake, but you may indeed have a banana! Hope all is well with you! Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Hunter collective IP address

I (one of the many users of this collective address) strongly suggest that you do in fact permaban this account, or at least impose some sort of restriction: the computer is open to over 1,000 students, some of them only in junior high, and the vandalism is unlikely to cease.--146.95.224.80 15:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

RFA script

I saw the duplicate voters and I thought it was checking for socks, but I looked it the code and it appears to just check for duplicate names. It appears to run from http://tools.wikimedia.de/~tangotango/rfa.php so it should have some PHP code to access the SQL database, run a checkuser, and then compute checks for any voters that used identical IPs in the last week. Doing this may also require checking through the article history to match names as some people have messed up signatures that don't give their usernames or else don't link to their userpage but elsewhere. SakotGrimshine 07:25, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Basically you (1) Get everyone's names. (2) Go into the database of the English wiki portal. (3) Get a query from the recentchanges table and do a query that filters by name as well as queries for anything with a time/date stamp under a week old (probably current time/date - 7 days). (4) then you gather the up into an array and do that for each person. (5) Then compare IPs to each other, (6) Poof instant IP check and if it's done all with scripts and the script doesn't have code saving it to a file then it's a checkuser that's kind of like when you pay for a product online with your credit card and it's encrypted so only machines see the data so there's no humans spilling the IPs. Maybe you should make it into a mediawiki extention that can check any and all voting pages? SakotGrimshine 07:32, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks, I am working on this - and thanks for the category tips. I am working on the sources right now! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thomaslear (talkcontribs) 15:12, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I have put a lot of supporting links in the talk page - and I also have put some sources on the main page. hope this is better. it is my first contribution (probably my last hehe) so apologies for not putting all the info up, upfront. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thomaslear (talkcontribs) 15:49, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

User:Superbfc/sig

Hi, thanks for the heads up. I cannot see any loose <span>s, but I did bring in a mis-placed </em> into its appropriate <div>. It's now amended to look like this:-

	<div>— [[User:Superbfc|
		<span style="color:#FF4500;font-weight:bold;">superbfc</span>]]
		<small>[ [[User_talk:Superbfc|
			<span style="color:#00008B">talk</span>]] | [[Special:Contributions/Superbfc|
				<span style="color:#C71585">cont</span>]] ]
		</small> —
		<em style="font-size:10px;">22:10, 18 June 2007 (UTC)</em>
	</div>

Please get back to me if this still looks wrong, but I can't see any nesting problems. BTW, I would appreciate a slightly less aggressive tone, thanks. — superbfc [ talk | cont ] — 17:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I'll take the <div> out - I wanted it to preserve some aspects of the formatting, but I can do that with a non-breaking space instead. Your additional <span> is - unless I've gone completely mad or blind - is not required. In the code below, I've replaced each <span>-pair with numbers so you can see the logic.
  — [[User:Superbfc|
  <ONE style="color:#FF4500;font-weight:bold;">superbfc</ONE>
  ]]
   <SMALLSTART>[ [[User_talk:Superbfc|
     <TWO style="color:#00008B">talk</TWO>
    ]] | [[Special:Contributions/Superbfc|
     <THREE style="color:#C71585">cont</THREE>
    ]] ]</SMALLEND>
   —
  <EMSTART style="font-size:10px;">{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTTIME}},
  {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTDAY}}
  {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTMONTHNAME}}
  {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTYEAR}} (UTC)</EMEND>
I will change my signature if it causes any real problems, but I haven't been made aware of any - if the format is okay, then the sig is okay. I'm not the only one with a fancy sig. I could just change it to {{user}} {{CURRENTDATE}} if you prefer, but I'll wait any see if you don't mind — superbfc talk | cont ] — 12:24, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

How to redirect articles together ??

Hi, I would like to know, how can I create many articles that will all redirect to the same content. I created an article called "Kostrzyńsko-Słubicka SSE", and what I would like is that for example if someone is looking for "The Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone" that they can find it under "Kostrzyńsko-Słubicka SSE" but I don't know how to redirect an article to just one title. For the moment I have copied the content of one article into the other one, but this is a waste of time, because it creates many identical articles, and this is not my purpose. Please help me !! Thanks Bbpuce 10:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Colayer Content added as u suggested

Hi, As discussed this morning, I have uploaded the content at User:Dhoom4/Colayer - Awaiting your feedback. If positive, it would be great to have Colayer page back. Thanks Dhoom4 13:32, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

User:Tyrenius has already deleted the contents on User:Dhoom4/Colayer page :( ... I will be happy to take out OR repharse couple of sentences which does not match wikipedia standards, but for that it would be great to know which ones I have to rework, instead of deleting the whole article (which I think meets most of your standards). Thanks for your kind support. Dhoom4 07:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Are Not User Pages the First Source for Conflict Resolution

Apparently when anyone has a dispute over the neutrality of an article, as I had with the treatment of carrots, you immediately label it as vandalism (and revert). Way to encourage differing points of view! In addition, you apparently do not like such issues to be aired in public - as you recently removed my comments from this talk page (c.f. page history). I think we are up to seven now - again I have an opinion about a page that differs from you, so I deserve a ban. As for that Qur'ān issue, I admit it would have best been handeled in the Wikipedia:sandbox. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.135.122 (talkcontribs) 06:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Do you just automatically protect pages, and "Discussion" pages at that, where criticisms of the Wikipedia admin policy are raised? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.131.229 (talkcontribs) 06:18, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Could you be more specific? At the moment I have no idea what you are talking about. I have not recently edited the article on Carrot nor the one on Qur'an. - Tangotango (talk) 06:23, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps you could confer with your comrades, Fire Star 火星 and †Sir James Paul†. I have been increasingly hassled by both for simply raising objections to their policies. At least you have shown the initiative to address my criticisms - such policy seems to be, at best, sparse. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.129.106 (talkcontribs) 06:30, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm afraid I'm not qualified to single-handedly pass judgement on other editors. The appropriate venue for voicing complaints against administrators is the Administrators' Noticeboard. Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 06:34, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
You are not "qualified to single-handedly pass judgement on other editors," however you show no objection in unilaterally protecting a user talk page (c.f. †Sir James Paul†) where an editor refuses to civilly discuss their actions. Are you kidding me? Do you consider the circumstances before taking such action, or is such a request automatically granted? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.129.106 (talkcontribs) 06:39, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh so *that's* what you were talking about. Yes, I will protect talk pages in very rare cases where a user is being hassled by vandals. Having looked at the edits you made, it appears that you were out to vandalize the articles concerned. - Tangotango (talk) 06:46, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Again with the name calling. Your page Tangotango seems to indicate that you strive to help newcomers to Wikipedia - you actions, however, appear to be aimed elsewhere. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.129.106 (talkcontribs) 06:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I do indeed like to help newcomers. But not those who seek to undermine our content. Could you kindly show me evidence of any edits that you think were helpful to the encyclopedia? - Tangotango (talk) 06:52, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Are anonymous edits not constructive? Perhaps you might look over dynamic ip address to see why I find your request impossible. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.129.106 (talkcontribs) 06:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
No, I think the majority of anonymous edits are constructive. I know what dynamic IP addresses are; I have seen the edits Sir James Paul reverted that were obviously made by you; specifically, the edits to Carrot and Qu'ran. If you persist in pretending that you do not know what edits you yourself have made, I will simply have to block you for evading a block. Tangotango (talk) 07:03, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I do not deny these edits - you might refer to the first comment in this "thread" (if that is the proper term). Are POV issues with articles automatically remedied with blocks? As for the issue of "hassling," I was merely looking for an explanation for the actions the afore mentioned users had taken. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.129.106 (talkcontribs) 07:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Anyway, as I am sure we both have better things to do, I will refer to the resources on your user page to learn more about Wikipedia policy. My position, however, on the often "heavy handedness" of Wikipedia Admins remains unchanged. I appreciate your attempt at a civil dialogue. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.251.73.11 (talkcontribs) 07:22, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

image licensing

hello there, you inserted a →Licensing - orfud on the images: Image:Pinup Girls - Take Me Away techno mix.jpg and Image:Pinup Girls - Take Me Away.jpg. I have put a note describing the fact that it is NOT a cover, it is a picture of the records, quoted the source of the image, and the item is deleted from catalog. how do I go about removing the licensing thing on them please? thanks. Query

Hi Tango, I am currently operating a bot (SpebiBot) whose future task is to update the tally in several RfAs (the box near the header of the RfA, (#/#/#)), which is constantly incorrect and misleading to other users, due to users involving in the discussions forgetting to update the tally. The reason I am contacting you is because TangoBot updates an RfA infobox on WP:BN, and I am curious to know if updating the tallies on individual active RfA pages will become a regular task completed by TangoBot. Thanks, +spebi ~ 08:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Tango :) SpebiBot is also written using the Pywikipedia framework, so would you be able to provide me the source code that allows the bot to update the tallies? If you can't, it is understood. Thanks again, +spebi ~ 08:53, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

You warned User:DVdm in his talk; continuing edit-war

We must apologize, we are a German Astronomy-club and have certain problems in (expert's?) perfect English. Because WIKI shows nowhere at least "known solutions" of Einsteins GR since a long, long time, we dared to begin to impose within some days of work, "known solutions" in Solutions of the Einstein field equations compressed (too much) in sections. Of course a WARNING-SIGNAL would be good to help to enhance the sections. But mentioned (known) WIKI-WARRER destroy all done work instead to help and enhance all stubs and insufficiency - HAS NOT ANYONE TO BEGIN TO WRITE KNOWN SOLUTIONS (or does nobody competent know some)? Please stop such things and to enhance WIKI. It would certainly bad if best experts are continuously rv by non-experts and beginners.
