Speedy deletion nomination of DotSUB edit

A tag has been placed on DotSUB, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -Zeus-u|c 03:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Marc Thiessen edit

Hi. I'm afraid I've just removed most of the text you recently added to this article. The main problem is that our rules about Biographies of living people require good sources for all controversial claims, and Media Matters is an advocacy group, not a reliable source. Another problem is that we cannot cite videos of the Amanpour interview from YouTube etc because they are technically copyright violations. (If we could find a video of the interview on cnn.com, or even a transcript, that would be fine.)

Please don't let this put you off contributing to Wikipedia in general or that article in particular. We understand that it takes several months to really understand the rules here.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://fedpubs.com/subject/govern/arar.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:45, 13 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Richard Proulx (RCMP officer) edit

Hi Talencar: Regarding Richard Proulx (RCMP officer), please note that I have modified the name slightly so as to be in accord with the Wiki Manual of Style. More importantly -- Richard Proulx simply does not belong in the array of categories that are, of course, proper for Maher Arar. It was rather confusing to find him listed there. I've remedied that situation, so for future reference, please be careful not to assign inappropriate categories to other articles that you may create or edit. Proposed deletion of Palace of the End edit

The article Palace of the End has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The best of available sourcing is uniform and minimal, like is on this page, giving a brief synopsis of the play and little more when anything. Redundant sourcing providing the same minimal general information doesn't give a case for inclusion. Most plays do not have Wiki articles for this reason including most others by this playwright. The sourcing and content on this page are about as good as it gets excluding a few minutiae. Sourcing contradicts each other on the details and sometimes contradict the published play's story. Sourcing includes: a smattering of brief synopses often in the form of a short review of a performance or about an upcoming (from the time of writing of the source) performance, short mentions, product pages for the published play, promos, and similar. The historical information on this article is highly inaccurate and the third of the three characters is fictional which a few sources wisely point out. A note - from searching, there are other works with the title "Palace of the End" unrelated to the play and it is a real place that is mentioned in many non-fiction works and articles unrelated to the play.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:01, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
