Hi, Tainted Drifter, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips

edit

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Big Pun

edit

Your comment on the Big Pun article is more appropriate for the Talk:Big Pun. Please discuss there - help us find a way to verify the birthdate and the inclusion on the song/album - so it can be changed and the source cited - thx --Trödel 03:15, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Slightly surprised to see Kanye West in there. I think he's a good producer; listen to Jay-Z's Blueprint for examples.

Do you know about the Hip Hop WikiProject? Λυδαcιτγ 00:13, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the recent edit you made to List of Legend Rappers has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. X-1

edit

I deleted it per the pretty much unanimous result of this AfD. You're certainly welcome to recreate it (as I noticed you have), but unless you address some of the issues raised in that AfD I think it likely that it could be put up for AfD again. (Get some sources to establish notability and cite them). Daniel Case 00:54, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Uh, you're not supposed to add to closed AfD discussions, per the red text at the top. It was closed, over and done with, several months ago, and none of the participants are likely to read, much less respond, to what you said. That doesn't mean the article can't be recreated, as again you've done. I would concentrate my energies on writing an article that would pass WP:MUSIC ... see if you can prove he meets the criteria for notability laid out there.

The article was deleted because it didn't assert the subject's notability, and was not edited to do so during the AfD. I am sorry if you seem to have felt you weren't notified ... to avoid that in the future, consider placing articles on your watchlist via the "watch" tab up top and checking "my watchlist" regularly, if you don't already do this.

You might want to look at Aasim — another article about a rapper originally not only deleted several times but salted, but then restored by me and improved by an editor who knew how to demonstrate notability and write a good (albeit short) article. Daniel Case 14:57, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, I was going through pages after being on for eleven hours, longer than I should have been most likely. Excuse me for that.

A tag has been placed on X-1 (rapper) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Alexf42 12:56, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Freaky Tah

edit

The article Freaky Tah has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
