Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:34, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removing AfD templates edit

Hi! I figured that a good re-write would probably help out, but as far as removing the deletion template goes you cannot remove it until the deletion discussion has ended. Also, removing the template does not end the deletion discussion at all and repeated removal could be seen as vandalism even if you do have good intentions behind it. I wouldn't immediately worry, as this means that there will be a discussion for at least seven days where both sides can voice their arguments to either keep or delete the article. Until that point comes or unless there's an overwhelming amount of arguments that give reasons per WP:GNG to keep or delete the article, the template cannot be removed. There's no going around this, which can be either a good or a bad thing sometimes. Most times it's good, as it gives time to find sources and provide an argument to keep an article. I won't deny that sometimes it can be frustrating waiting for an admin to come in and make a final decision based on the arguments. The one thing I want to stress is that this isn't based on a vote, so even if there are lot of "delete" votes one very well phrased "keep" argument can keep an article. On the flip side, I've seen articles deleted based upon only one "delete" vote because it countered the "keep arguments" with valid points. What I mean by this is that you shouldn't get discouraged because there is a deletion template at the top of the article or even if there's a lot of people saying to delete.

What I recommend is that you read through WP:BIO to see what the basic guidelines are to show notability for a person. I also heartily recommend that you read through WP:RS, as this will go over what counts as a reliable source. It can be very frustrating to go through what is or isn't considered to be a reliable source that shows notability and after years of being on Wikipedia I can say that I'm still learning what is or isn't usable to show notability and what is considered to be non-usable or trivial. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, but I will warn you that I'm not as familiar with news sources from India. What I can recommend straightaway is that you look into getting someone from Wikipedia:WikiProject India to assist you in looking for sources, as this is a group that is devoted to furthering articles and India, its culture, and its people- anything relating to India. You might also want to join the group and help out, as there's always a need for more users in any given WikiProject, but especially in the ones devoted to such large and expansive topics such as countries. I'm a student, so I'm not always able to get online, so if you have any questions about sources you can also try asking questions on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard.

Now if the worst comes to pass and the article looks like it will be deleted, don't lose heart. Since Arora does have a book forthcoming, there is a chance that he could receive more coverage in the future. What you might be able to do is to ask to WP:USERFY the article, which means that you would copy the article into your userspace so you could continue to work on it. You could also ask to have it incubated, which does the same thing but puts it in a more general space. It's usually better to userfy, though, as incubated articles can sometimes get forgotten and it's harder to move an article out of incubation than it is to move it out of a userspace.

The only other thing I can recommend is that you also look into WP:COI. I notice that you share the same name as Arora's company, and while it's not against the rules to edit an article that you are directly involved in it is always good to be open about your association with the company. I won't deny that sometimes people can get a little overly passionate about articles created by people with a conflict of interest and in the past I've been bad about that myself, but it's always better to be up front about everything.
