Insect articles

edit

Hello Tabdulla. You've been adding many articles about insects, e.g. Eonycteris. Some are very extensive - did you verify that these are not copyrighted texts? Also remember that articles should be properly formatted (see Eonycteris for pointers) and that you should not sign articles. Bye and have fun, Sandstein 16:46, 6 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

thank you dr sandstein and two other learned persons for the comments and all the observations. firstly, i'm not an ict person but a new wiki student who is having a sharp learning curve, trial & error, putting right things in wrong place, putting wrong things in wrong places etc, etc; secondly, i've to unlearn many things e.g. insects include eonycteris, but my zoology teacher has disapproved. i strongly feel that you should at least recommend me the right wiki insect expert for verification and tell me how can i get the copyrights before uploading? thirdly, it might be that "placebo effect" of unlearning that i think you wanted copyright texts, but i was wrong again as per your comments below. thus i had requested earlier, please delete all my entries, because it's a useless situation and would not increase our knowledge. also pls delete this username. --Tabdulla 15:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Format

edit

Hello, I am happy that someone is writing some articles about Pahang. However, it will be great if you can add other relevant details to those articles so that they don't look like travel guides. Topics such as history, geography, demographics, and economic activities will improve those location articles.

Besides, please use level 2 headlines for sections of articles. Level 3 headlines are for subsections of a bigger section.

In addition, please do not write in a list like the article on Jamaluddin Jarjis. Articles in Wikipedia should be written in full sentences.

Malaysia Education

edit

Another article, Education in Malaysia already exists and most of the info that you wrote in your article already exists. Therefore, I redirected your article to the bigger article. Feel free to edit the Education in Malaysia article.Wai Hong 05:44, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bats of Borneo

the listing under that heading was probably rejected, so it was placed under fruit bat (Cynopterus brachyotis); can somebody help to create a table? --Tabdulla 03:33, 24 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pahang River

edit

It's the English Wikipedia. Therefore, the page should be called X river. If you decide to use the Malay word for river, there will be other pages with French or German or whatever word used for river and it would be total chaos. Also, leave your message on my discussion page not my user page.Wai Hong 00:41, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Periok kera.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Periok kera.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

File:Rama rama.jpg missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Rama rama.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:29, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article Borneo Journal of Resource Science and Technology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

New journal with 1 published issue. No independent sources, apparently not indexed anywhere. Article creation too soon, does not meet WP:GNG or WP:NJournals.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notification of automated file description generation

edit

Your upload of File:Base camp.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Image source problem with File:Matang WC CJLaman.JPG

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Matang WC CJLaman.JPG.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:44, 6 February 2021 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 08:44, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
