Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --

its not me, who posted that previous message on my Discussion, it's 78.58.114.170, he posted it because I was editing "Eurobasket 2011" article, and he saw it and writted on my Discussion page, to invite me to that site.TVDB (talk) 09:29, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

We don't delete user talk pages, see WP:DELTALK. You are welcome to blank this, and indeed almost anything, from your talk page - for the few exceptions see WP:BLANKING - but the history is kept for record purposes. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 13:00, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

TVDB can't have an account here

edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I made that nick a while ago in 2010 when i contributed to that website, but after few moth i left, and so that nick stayed the same. Also, can you change old to new in all wiki languages?

Decline reason:

If User:dec is your account, you may continue using it. I don't see why that would be a reason to unblock this account. If 'dec' is not your account, there is no way you could usurp it because the account has been actively editing in the past. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:22, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

That User:dec is not registered, so no one owns that user name, so can you rename account to that?TVDB (talk) 07:56, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I moved your comment outside the unblock template.
You see, User:DeC is registered. While the difference in the capitalization would make the names distinct, would you mind choosing something that won't generate confusion? This is for your benefit as well as DeC's, so nobody will think one may be impersonating the other. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:50, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
TVDB is not a company, group name, product ([1]) (at least in Lithuania there are no registered name, i dont know about other countries), celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. If you find country with registered name, its not because I want to "promote" such name in country I dont even know. Other thing, about internet address, there are many websites under name of TVDB (.com, .net, .org, . info, .eu, .ru and so on), I don't promote any of those websites, and under ([2]) rules if my name does not have top level domain (.com, .co.kr, etc.) it's acceptable. Read conversation on my lithuanian Wiki, we accepted, that my nick is ok. ([3]) TVDB (talk) 08:00, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, a small "point of order"... TVDB, I don't think it is a good idea to expect English-speakers to read a discussion in Lithuanian (since, as we know, use of Google Translate would result in something unreadable). And "on my lithuanian Wiki, we accepted, that my nick is ok" would be, er, more impressive, if Lithuanian Wikipedia had any policy like WP:COI... But it doesn't, thus almost all usernames (without insults, swear words and the like) are acceptable there...
But, of course, it shouldn't be taken to mean that this username is unacceptable. --Martynas Patasius (talk) 20:07, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
