Theatre Under The Stars (Vancouver)

Thanks for the contributions on the article. You filled in some valuable missing dates. However I noticed the format you filled in didn't 'jive' well with Wikipedia's open text wiki and as a result the article looked all broken up. Wikipedia uses its very own method of linking to other articles and arranging information. The square brackets must surround the exact name of a musical in order to link it. For example Carousel and Carousel (musical) link to two very different articles. Also the brackets must surround a single name in order to link. As such you'd need to have separate square brackets around one name, and then a whole new set for another name.

Generally bold words are reserved for the article title or topic only at the top of the article. Italics are quite handy if you wish to emphasize something though in an encyclopedia, we try to tend to let the content speak for itself.

Creating tables in Wikipedia can be somewhat of a tricky thing. * and the number of consecutive ones you put below like in the article Theatre Under The Stars (Vancouver) will create a simple and easy to use table.

If you know more about the history of Theatre Under The Stars, that section is quite bare and the article reads more like a playbill history than an article. Please note that changing the links from Carousel (musical) and Grease (musical) to Carousel, Grease creates a red link that goes no where. Even if you separated the links one would link to an article about carnival carousels and the other to the liquid known as grease like in cars. Please do not continue to change the links. Hi Roger, I'm not sure if you're aware that any blue words on the page are actually links to other articles. A link is something you click and it will take you somewhere else. Surely you must know if you've come to Wikipedia on your own. Now to talk about the details of links. The square brackets [[ and ]] are used to surround an distinct item(s) to make it a link. The link will go directly to another article on Wikipedia as long as the name matches 'exactly'. Any variations, spelling mistakes, improper capitals will break the link and it shows up as red. Also, any link that you create where an article of that exact name does not exist will also create a red link. In other words if you see red on the page that means something is terribly wrong. If you click this link: here it goes to the version you edited, and you will see the entire page is red.

Grease, Oklahoma is attempting to link to an articled called Grease, Oklahoma. Of course no such article exists because Grease and Oklahoma are two separate articles. One for the musical Grease, and another completely separate article for Oklahoma. This brings me to my next point. I want you to click on these two links: Grease and Grease (musical). You will find that each link takes you to two very different articles on Wikipedia. The reason for this is that many topics share a name. Grease, the musical, isn't called Grease (musical) but because the word 'grease' is used regularly in the English language to describe many other things like lubricants and petroleum, the article about Grease, the musical, is located at Grease (musical). If you remove the (musical) from the link, the link changes to the article about lubricants. Thus it is very important you keep the links the way they are right now with (musical) and (operetta) etc. I have spent a very long time ensuring all the links go to the articles about the musicals and operettas.

I have changed the layout of the musicals so now its a simple list. The remaining work I leave to you and will check in on you. Simply fill in the dates beside the list of musicals as you will see I have done for the first few. You shouldn't have to touch / change any of the links in the article.
