Speedy deletion of Tom Mucciolo

A tag has been placed on Tom Mucciolo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:07, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:08, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Tom Mucciolo

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tom Mucciolo, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Autobiography, very promotional and no references, reads like a resume, having difficulty finding sources not written by the subject

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Tom Mucciolo

I have nominated Tom Mucciolo, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tom Mucciolo. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Hersfold (t/a/c) 06:29, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, self-promotional efforts of any kind are met with strong and swift rejection by our community, as such efforts are blatant violations of Wikipedia policy. Your repeated attempts to evade deletion only served to antagonize users and administrators, hence the final deletion that your article faced. Any further efforts to create this article again will result in your being blocked from editing. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 17:13, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Reallyhick, there is no need to be threatening this user with blocking at this time. I understand you're trying to help, but please remember to assume good faith - there was no intent of deceit here, simply some misunderstandings which are now resolved. Thank you. Re: Deleted Page

Hello Tom, it looks like the discussion has already been closed, so it seems to be a bit of a moot point now. Thank you for taking the time to read through our policies; I understand that they're not the most apparent things at first, but I'm glad you figured them out. I would like to invite you to continue contributing elsewhere, though - Wikipedia's a big project and we can always use some new hands. Happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 22:53, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
