I really hope some admin can mediate this situation. I do think your actions are abusive not mine. (Szsmr2014 (talk) 03:12, 23 April 2014 (UTC)).Reply

You made an account simply to undo any actions I made to one page. That is abusive. I assume you are a friend/family member/student of Anastassiou's. Szsmr (talk) 03:15, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dispute with Szsmr2014 edit

My friend,

I have not the foggiest idea what is source of this dispute. According to username policy, Szsmr2014 may qualify as a forbidden username, because the person using it is -- whether deliberately or accidently -- creating confusion regarding his identity. Unfortunately, the situation is complicated because your own username, Szsmr, was only recently registered, and has an edit history nearly identical to Szsmr2014. I will investigate the situation.

Regarding the article George Anastassiou, I made a judgment based on the sourcing within the article that it was quite possible the gentleman might meet WP:GNG. I have no stake in this area of editing, and no extensive knowledge of the subject matter. I do understand Wikipedia's deletion procedures well, though: while you were free to tag the article for proposed deletion, it doesn't meet the normal profile of articles deleted through that process. Proposed deletion is intended for uncontroversial cases, usually with only minimal sourcing or claims to notability. Articles with sourcing as extensive as George Anastassiou are normally only deleted through an Articles for Deletion discussion, a full debate on their merits. If you would like to see George Anastassiou deleted, I ask that you submit the article to an AfD. If you are unfamiliar with how this is done, I will be happy to help. Please feel free to ask any questions. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 03:27, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Xoloz,

Thank you for your input. Since you do not seem to be heavily interested, I will sum it up as this: I am a new Wikipedia editor and saw this page and researched WP:GNG and decided, after it had been introduced by another user, that this page certainly did not meet the requirements. I wanted to become involved with some Wikipedia policies and thought this would be a place to start. After digging around on the background of this person, making a few edits on the talk page, I somehow got involved in a dispute with people I believe know this individual personally. Regardless, thank you for the advice. Szsmr (talk) 03:46, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked Szsmr2014 as an impermissible username. The same user may still return to Wikipedia under another account name. If ever you feel subjected to harassment or intimidation by anyone, please feel free to bring the matter to my attention. Since you are interested in Wikipedia's policies, you might also want to peruse WP:PROF, the notability guideline for academics. My own story is similar to yours; I read Wikipedia for years before I became involved in the editorial side of the project. Once I did edit, I quickly became immersed in many different areas of policy. WP:AFD is a fine place to patrol if you wish to learn more about how the encyclopedia works on a day-to-day basis. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 04:00, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks again, Xoloz. Specifically, thank you for the notability guideline for academics. I will read that. Szsmr (talk) 04:11, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please leave heading templates intact in AfD discussions edit

Greetings! There is a heading at the top of every active AfD discussion, including Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Anastassiou, titled {{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD}}. This places some necessary categories in place while the deletion discussion is active. The template gets removed after the deletion discussion is closed, but while the discussion is ongoing, please leave the template in place. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 02:20, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Apologies. I misread/misunderstood what that meant. Thank you for the heads up! Much appreciated Szsmr (talk) 03:06, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
