Welcome edit

Hello, I'm Viewmont Viking. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--VVikingTalkEdits 15:45, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. --VVikingTalkEdits 15:46, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
My sincere apologies for not knowing that a company cannot edit topics associated with them. We were not aware of it and we did only publish facts about the movies and review links. We now understand the Wikipedia guidelines and request to be un-blocked.

March 2022 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:39, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your username is only one small part of the problem here. You need to address your inappropriate edits and tell us what you plan to write about instead. Yamla (talk) 17:21, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello Yamla,
Thank you for your answer and help identifying the cause of the issue, as we are not Wikipedia seasoned users. When the account was created, we misunderstood the guidelines and thought that a user cannot write about himself. We did polish some of the pages that describes our movies, in the spirit of enhancement and after reviewing comparable film's pages on Wikipedia, that had press releases links and official websites. Our mistake in understanding that someone that works in an organization cannot contribute on projects linked to its organization. We are deeply sorry and after spending time chatting on Kiwi, we understood that we have to submit requests through RA and AC. Thank you Synkronizedfilms (talk) 17:39, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Synkronizedfilms, note that shared accounts are not permitted. You'll need to change the password and confirm only a single person has access to this account. If your only goal is to write about your projects, this is probably the end of the line. If instead you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, make a new unblock request and a different admin will review it. --Yamla (talk) 19:15, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. You are correct. Our main goal is to make sure that our company and producing projects are properly listed as they should be. You are also correct in the fact that we have no plans of editing subjects that are not connected to our organization. However, in order to properly request films like "Saving Flora" (2019) starring Jenna Ortega which is basically the most influential young actress today (you would assume that her notable projects are on Wikipedia), or multi-award winner producers, with a large background of successful and commercial films, we understood from the kind helpers on Kiwi that our account shall be in good standing in order to post requests and find a Wikipedia editor that has no conflict of interest and can resolve this error and have those major projects and companies listed, which makes Wikipedia a better and more informed platform that it was, I assume that is the goal of Wikipedia in its mission. Thank you Synkronizedfilms (talk) 19:22, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
See WP:COI and WP:SPA. At a high level, Wikipedia isn't interested in what marketing departments wish to say about their products. I'm not trying to be rude here. Wikipedia is very different to other sites. You are still free to contest your block and a different admin will review it. You may be able to convince them. --Yamla (talk) 19:24, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
