Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Steve Biko, you will be blocked from editing. Smmurphy(Talk) 01:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I did NOT vandalize the Biko Page. Initially, I wasn't logged in, and removed a vandalism (as you should be able to tell from the IP address) of a very vulgar and offensive statement. I realized I wasn't logged in, and as I was reading further in the article, I found that it had other offensive content. I then edited that section out as well.

I do not know why you think I was vandalizing the page. Nor do I know how to correct this assumption.

I would also like to note that I am strongly in favor of liberation movements and leaders such as Steve Biko and the ANC. I'm glad someone locked the page from vandalism. I have utmost respect for him and would never vandalize not only his page, but any page on wikipedia.

If you visit my livejournal profile, you will see that I have a long history of support for social justice/radical theory. But, regardless of my personal political stance, I oppose wiki vandalism. Even for those political groups I personally despise. I believe in free speech, and I believe in truth and cooperation.

I hope my name is not tarnished. I'm not a prolific wiki user, and it is my fault for not properly knowing how to edit a page (as the person after me also somehow had a misedit, when they clearly didn't mean to, in a manner similar to mine).

I realize I should have logged in for my first edit, and also that I should have marked that my edits were intended to remove vandalism.

whoah, I'm sorry. The relevant edits are here, clearly you did not vandalize the page, rather you were cleaning it up and helping it along. Thank you for your help and for letting me know my mistake. Please do not see my warning as anything more than an accident. Also don't feel overly pushed to log in to edit, although edit summaries are helpful, logged in and anon edits are very welcome on wikipedia, and this is entirely a case of my making a frustrated mistake when seeing all the vandalism there, and accidentally ascribing some of it to you. Let me know if there is anything I can do to make it up to you, and if there are any general wikipedia issues you have questions or need help with. Best, Smmurphy(Talk) 12:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
