Before we start, I have done alot of tagging of articles recently. If you are here to ask why I tagged your article a specicific way, I can tell you that most likely it is because I am involved in New Page Patrolling. Which is where you check out new pages and then mark them as patrolled and if you think they need some sort of tag or another you then tag them with that. Any tag that I have added to an article is a suggestion for improvement, I do not mean it as a criticism to any of it's authors and editors in any way! I mean it simply as a way to help it to fit wikipedia's standards. If you still have questions, or if you were here for something entirely different feel free to click the new section link and ask or talk away! I love comments on my talk page :)

Yeah, that works. dont forget to add the 4 ~s after your name so that it signs for ya (otherwise a bot comes in and does it for ya and it don't look as nice. I will leave you a note on your own talk page :) Sykko (talk) 14:33, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

My first vandalism reverts

I just reverted a few vandalism attempts and wanted to set up a section where people could discuss these in case I messed anything up... most of them were very blatant attempts so I am pretty confident in my reverts :) but at the same time I was trying to be quick and got a bit excited and didn't leave comments... if I have messed up serious edits that you made, or you thing I made the wrong choice in a revert please let me know here so that I may learn from those mistakes and improve my ability to contribute to Wikipedia :)

Editor Review for Jclemens

Yes, I would be very much interested in an editor review. I've just finished a rather messy AfD discussion, and have done a ton of recent changes patrolling so looking at contributions will have wide swaths of me removing vandalism via huggle. I've already gotten a bit of feedback, but I took the Editor review tag off of my page, because it was tending to attract comments from people who disagreed with a specific edit, rather than someone who would look, holistically, at how I was contributing to Wikipedia. Thanks! Jclemens (talk) 18:31, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok :) finished, hope it helps! %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 19:32, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for taking the time to examine my record and provide feedback. I'll keep fine-tuning my recent changes patrolling. Feel free to message me directly if anything else occurs to you. Jclemens (talk) 20:00, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
No problem %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 20:13, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I'd love to still be reviewed! Review away! :D

Barnstars 'R' U

  The Hidden Page Barnstar
I award you one for finding User:Trekphiler's page for people who always think that "new message" bar is real. Aren't you glad you checked your mail? TREKphiler 08:03, 6 July 2008 (UTC) (Half a chance I lifted from the same place you saw it. BTW, what brought you to my page?)
I was on Maolain's page and noticed that they had received the barnstar, and was curious about how ya did the whole hidden Barnstar thing, I busted up laughing when I realized that even though I was planning on looking for it that I had completely got caught by it! Great stuff, I only hope that I will eventually come up with something just as clever. %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 08:22, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Advanced Electron Forum

I have nominated Advanced Electron Forum, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Advanced Electron Forum. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Naerii 10:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I replied on the AfD page. Hope things work out for the best either way. %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 15:59, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Generation Y/Millennials article

Thanks alot for the praise! I thought the article needed some revision and had a lot of questionable info and stereotypes, as if everyone in Generation Y is wired on Facebook and texting lol. When I saw the Washington post article, I thought it was great. It basically described how people such as me felt about our generation getting mislabeled by the media. (if you think about it, as this is what happened to Gen X too lol) I think the article is much better and less biased now, and I'll try to keep adding valid new info as I see it. Thanks again for the compliment!-Rumble 74

No problem, I have been taking a look at a few articles on generations lately and have even proposed a wikiproject here maybe we can get enough of us together to make some major improvments to the articles about generations. %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 19:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Generation Y

Thanks I've added another reference justifying the point about Generation Y being labeled as 'Civics' and 'Nation Builders'. It is a common label they are often given. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jreconomy (talkcontribs) 00:09, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

you provided a really great link there! which is to a well-worded article. but I dont think it really goes in line with the terms "civic" or "federation generation" perhaps between the 2 of us we could come up with a good way to rewrite the statement to reach what it is that you are trying to say. I think if we drop the reference to Federation generation and instead say something to the effect that:
The generation is sometimes defined as "Civics", characterised as wealth creators and nation builders. They are sometimes described as an "overachieving, overscheduled" generation
with a single ref that points to the smh article... what do you think about that? shoot back a revision if you think there should be a way to word it better.
by the way, perhaps we should take this to the article's Talk Page what do you think? %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me)

Votation

We thank you SYKKO, all your suggestions (to clean the page, to leave only reliable sources, etc.) are right and already made. There is a provisory page ( click here ) where you also can see many extra reliable references with photos and comments and links. On pt.wiki votation it´s has been discussed in details and many serious wiki contributors have voted to keep the page, including 2 one which changed their votes.

I have a question: Is it possible to extend the votation on en.wiki page (for example, 2 or 3 days) , for a better evaluation with basis on pt.wiki page? Or maybe (of course, it would be better and fair) a propose to cancell the en votation if the pt votation decide to keep the pt page?

Thanks in advance for your answer. --Poetrybrazil (talk) 08:40, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I see that you really are working hard on this article. I see the same on both pages, which is essentially you being the only person truely arguing to keep it. Either way I have added a link to the translated version of the pt.wikipedia just in case it helps. I have a suggestion to make, copy the page and keep a version of it in your userspace. this way if it does get deleted you will still have a copy of it that you can work on and correct the things that people are contesting. Then perhaps you may find the perfect reference and then you will know for sure that it is ready for "prime time" if you will... If you do this and keep it in your userspace on a sub page let me know as you are finishing up and I will take a look at it and help you out some.
I have had this same problem with a subject that I consider notable but was very frustrated when I could not verify that notability. So I know what it is that you are going through and I know how frustrating it is for your efforts to get attacked but dont let it discourage you. I would say keep an eye out for good resources on Christina, and while you are at it take a look around and try to see if you can find someone else by searching the news and other web resources. If you need any help feel free to drop me a line %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 14:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Archiving talk page threads at Talk:Racism

Hi, Talk:Racism is waaaay too huge with over 115 talk threads. Would you be willing to help tag talk sections with {{resolved}} and {{stale}} as appropriate so we can start archiving old talk threads? Even a few at time will help! Thank you! Banjeboi 22:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Sure, I will take a look later tonight when I get home, I will be away from my computer for now though.%%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 22:41, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

ASQ certification

I noticed you work in the quality profession like I do. One question: do you have any American Society for Quality certifications? I have the Auditor's (CQA) version which I earned last December. Please respond on my talk page just out of curiosity. Chris (talk) 02:53, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Keep fighting. That is all I can tell you. Chris (talk) 03:16, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Without a doubt, I really do believe deep down that the idea of not having a checks system is not worth the savings that could come with not paying the employees doing those checks. Sometimes though it is tough to convince the money people that there actually is a financial value to good quality. %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 03:20, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

No problem :). Old image was a bad jpg; and I requested deleting it. Check this link for more info about best image formats. Anyways, I'm sorry if the PNG version was not as much quality as JPG one; If you don't agree deleting it, please comment here. BTW, I still don't see any different between them (JPG; PNG).--OsamaK 21:04, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

I have no issues with format conversion, and it looks identical :) I appreciate you making the adjustment to my template before they deleted it! I would have eventually found the new image anyway but you have saved me the work of doing that so thanks :) I will support your delete %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 21:16, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Pre-archiving talk threads

Hi, I noticed you adding "stale" and "resolved" tags to Talk:Generation Y. Usually, it's only necessary to do that on pages with extremely high traffic and frequent archiving, like WP:AN. Unless the threads raise very important issues (in your opinion) that are still unresolved, you can just drop everything that hasn't been replied to for a couple of months into an archive.--Father Goose (talk) 23:43, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

you are probably right about that, but I figure with how much drama goes on in that talk page that it would be worth it to give editors a chance to argue if a thread should be archived or not.

then again you can see simply by the fact that there are often the same damn subject coming up over and over again that not everyone even bothers reading the whole page... so I am torn... I may take your advice though and just start chopping it up and throw it all into archive 3... thanks Father Goose, I am always glad to see how much attention you give to the generations articles! %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 23:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

More advice: dummy edits are usually done by just adding or removing a space after a period, you don't have to do a whole html comment. Whenever I have to include a long explanation with an undo, I just erase the default "undo" summary and write "Undo. <explanation>."--Father Goose (talk) 07:23, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! I wasnt sure about that and my first attempt at deleting a charrage return... :) %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 21:18, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
