Amazon edit

edit

Even though I wrote the paragraph you deleted here, I actually approve of your edit. That paragraph was written to placate the persons that are insisting that the Amazon is the longest river, something based primarily on one study done by Brazilians. I had kept insisting on verbiage that the Nile is the longest, since that's what virtually every geographic authority says today. That paragraph was just to say that it was possible that someday it would be found that the Amazon was the largest. Your edit was in the best traditon of WP:BOLD, and I salute you. All I'm doing here is letting you know that the Amazoniacs will probably keep trying to insert that or other language to overturn your edit. Unschool (talk) 23:37, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bob Dylan

edit

I could use your backing in a discussion to have the Bob Dylan article cleaned up or split, as right now I am carrying the pro-cleanup end of the talk myself. Tealwisp (talk) 23:41, 3 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shenmue Quick "Time" Events

edit

Hi, thanks for making a bunch of quality edits to Shenmue! I noticed that you changed the definition of QTE from "Quick Timer Events" to "Quick Time Events". I made a similar edit a while back which was promptly reverted by another editor who correctly pointed out that the game itself uses "Timer" (in the manual and other materials) rather than "Time". We agreed to go back to Timer since this game sort of defined the mechanic, though the Quick Timer Event article has redirects for both usages (see my talk page for details). So anyway, it's not something I care about particularly, but thought you might want to know. --waka (talk) 03:27, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Talk: Bob Dylan

edit

Hi Syferus, no-one deleted your comment. There's a robot User: MiszaBot that takes threads which haven't changed in 90 days and puts them in the Archive. It did the same to your comment yesterday, I'm afraid, see [[1]] Mick gold (talk) 06:46, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ballyporeen

edit

Re your comment on change to Balyporeen in which you said "(Please do not polute articles with bold text without even bothering to re-read what you're questioning" - There was a reference to Gemma Hayes' debut album which according to the article "was released to critical acclaim and was nominated for that year's Mercury Music Prize". I highlighted this because it does not state what year they are talking about. Could you not have politely have made your point without accusing me of polluting an article or not bothering to re-read something? I have now discovered that the missing year was 2002 and will amend Ballyporeen accordingly.Coolavokig (talk) 10:56, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
