Waylon's edit

I believe Don Joseph Toyota of Kent is planning on relocating its dealership there. That's what I've heard. DangApricot 03:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Logan County edit

Thanks for putting the railroad link on the Belle Center article. I searched for an article on that railroad but couldn't find it. Now I wonder why I didn't :-) Nyttend 14:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

CFI in Orlando, Florida edit

We have noticed that you had our IP address blocked. It is the address for the ISP for CFI. CFI is one of the largest privately held entities in the South East United States. CFI owns Several resorts, several brand name hotels, restaurants and several other business across the United States. It is also the single largest non-Disney purchaser of Walt Disney World tickets in the world as well and many other central Florida attractions and invests several millions of dollars annually into the development of Central Florida and inparticular Orlando, Florida. Please note that in blocking this address, you are blocking over 20,000+ simultaneous potential Wikipedia users (staff, customers and guests from across the country) from access to the editing capabilities of Wikipedia. Many users of Wikipedia have made very useful contributions to articles from our ip address.

CFI is also the parent company for numerous internet entities including the Orlando Area Guide. It is an informational website with the intent to be the most complete resource/reporitory for all Central Florida information including an Orlando wiki and numerous web 2.0 products. As manager of www.OrlandoAreaGuide.com I understand the necessity for maintaining a Spam free enviroment on Wikis and with respect to recent events...I apologise on behalf of some of the overly zealous members of my team. However, we do believe that as an integral part of Central Florida's life we do deserve some mention on a page dedicated to Orlando. OrlandoAreaGuide.com is the orlando repository that we wish to have on the Orlando, Florida page.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Geniusboy (talkcontribs)

Actually, kind sir/madam, I'm not a Wikipedia administrator. Only administrators of this website have the ability to block IP addresses; therefore, I'm not responsible for this action. I should mention, however, that I did, and do, oppose the linking of commercial websites not used in the production of article content. IP blocks are usually a temporary action. After the time for the block has expired, you may consider adding content to the article itself from your website, which in turn would justify the link. You might also want to review the guideline itself concerning the linking of commercial websites at Wikipedia:Spam. Regards, SwissCelt 01:00, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
See my comments to Geniusboy on the Walt Disney World talk page for some additional perspective on the recent campaign to add links and references to CFI's websites and businesses throughout many Wikipedia articles. —Whoville 10:25, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Greetings... edit

Thanks for the help with Yellow Springs article - I'm hoping you can give me a few pointers on creating articles for some of the small, unicorporated hamlets in the area. ~~Rydra Wong

A great place to start is by creating articles for area townships (Clark and Greene Counties, maybe?), making sure that each township article includes links to these hamlets. Help for this is available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio townships. Good luck! -- SwissCelt 05:20, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: User:208.108.164.52 edit

I just gave 208.108.164.52 a final warning for continued vandalism on Bellefontaine, Ohio even after you blocked this address. Could you help us ensure this person does not continue to vandalize Wikipedia? Thanks! -- SwissCelt 16:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now reported to WP:AIV. It is best to place vandal warnings for admin attention there rather than on an individual admin's Talk page, in case they are offline. This IPvandal will be blocked if they vandalise again. Regards, (aeropagitica) 16:09, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

re: thanks edit

Swiss Celt- Thanks for the "reality-check" on the Famous People section of the Minerva, Ohio page.... Tom Kishman is merely a small town merchant and certainly not worthy of a citation on that page.

j.g. karma

Yeah, I was born in nearby Salem, Ohio, and even I couldn't care less whom Tom Kishman is. (I'm only dimly aware of the name.) You should know, though, that it's very important we not slander living persons on Wikipedia, whether notable or not. Such is the policy at WP:BLP. -- SwissCelt 05:34, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mentor, Ohio discussion edit

Hello. I appreciate your input to the discussion on the Mentor, Ohio talk page. The topic was added again by the same user - essentially reverted. I reverted the article, and left a second notice on the user's talk page. I am very new to this editing thing. I believe I am following the proper procedures, and being civil about it. At what point does this issue cross the line into what would be considered vandalism?

I also notice that you are part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio townships project. I would be interested in contributing. Do I simply add my name to the Participants list?

I have been making edits to the Munson Twp. article (my home), and am planning on creating an article for Concord Twp. (where I grew up). --KeithB 17:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're doing great! I'd say the user's edits do approach vandalism, but we should assume good faith for now. If this continues, however, I will report him/her to WP:AIV. (Of course, you are also welcome to do so if you believe this user has crossed that threshold.) As for the townships, yes, simply add your name to the participants list. I've started articles for townships in neighbouring Portage County; for an example, see Mantua Township, Portage County, Ohio. Feel free to follow links from there into Geauga County to start articles. (I believe Bainbridge Township is also started.) -- SwissCelt 19:48, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the positive feedback (sound like I'm on E-bay <grin>). Another favor to ask. I like the very much the layout of you user page, especially the navbar setup. Would you mind if I shamelessly borrowed your format to give my user page a kick start? I realize that these things are GFDL licensed, but I wanted to be polite and ask. Don't feel bad to say no; maybe it's rude of me to ask. I have no idea about the protocol of this sort of thing on Wikipedia. Thanks. --KeithB 16:58, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
By all means, go ahead. You'll find most of the code at User:SwissCelt/Navbox. -- SwissCelt 18:44, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Youngstown edit

Hey SwissCelt, I started WikiProject Youngstown and I invite you to join me. I felt it would be a good way to create a system to organize articles relating to Youngstown. Thanks!--Daysleeper47 17:53, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Northwood, Logan County edit

Some weeks ago I put up an article on Northwood, Logan County, Ohio, located on SR 638 on the Richland/McArthur township line. Could you add one of those maps with the little red dot to the article? Thanks! Nyttend 19:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ohio State University name change edit

Thought you might find Template:Logan County, Ohio somewhat interesting; do you think it should be applied only to localities, or to other county-related matters as well? Nyttend 13:34, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

In Re Miami v. Miami edit

Hey SwissCelt,

While I agree that Miami Ohio has a great academic reputation, you cannot argue that Miami Oh is ahead of Miami Fl as evidenced by several things...USNews rankings, UMiami's Rhodes and Cambridge Scholars in the last 5 years, endowment, and research funding--it will continue to be that way. Your reference to UMiami as Suntan U is insulting and ignorant of the great deal of progress the University has made since the late 1970s. You deliberately confuse perceptions of our football team with our academic standing to the point that it is almost delusional. Your rabid jealousy and hatred for UMiami is so transparent I question why I even wasted 5 seconds of my life to educate a loser such as yourself.

Rest assured, then, that I shall not waste even 5 seconds of my time to respond to this. The facts, along with my opinions, are clear in the relevant articles and talk pages (respectively). It would seem, my anonymous sir or madam, that you are gravely mistaken on several things, not the least of which are the details of what I actually stated in this long-resolved debate. This matter is closed; no further commentary on the issue will be posted to this talk page. -- SwissCelt 05:01, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
