Elric Edits edit

Forgive me for asking, but could you provide me with a diff of the edit in question? I didn't see it in either the article or your contributions under this account. I am presuming that you made it as an IP edit. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 01:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Took a closer look, and found this edit where i removed it, and this edit where the IP user added it. Was the IP user User:91.102.62.253 you? Please let me know if the diff doesn't refer to your edit.
If so, I am prepared to answer your question. The source you cited defined the name Elric. It doesn't define the name Elric in terms of the Moorcock stories. You are putting the two together to explain; which is another way of noting that you synthesized the material to work together. In order to define Elric's name, you need a reliable source that speaks to the definition in terms of the books themselves. An example of this would be an interview with Moorcock as to how he arrived at the name of the character (I seem to recall that in a radio interview back in the 90's, he wanted something that utterly belied the weakling Elric actually was, sorta like naming someone Merlin-like as Tim). I hope that helps a bit. If, I've muddled things, please ask me for more clarification, and I'll be happy to provide it. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 01:37, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not sure if you responded before or after my initial response here, but i think my subsequent reply addressed your concerns. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 01:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
