Hello, Svila010, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Elysia and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes

edit

Hi! I have some notes:

  • This deals with a medical topic, so I need you to take this training module, which goes over the special requirements for a health and body topic.
  • This should take a globalized point of view, so make sure that you're not relying solely on sourcing that focuses on the US.
  • Be careful of having a leading/persuasive tone. Your writing is good, but there are some parts that are leading the reader, like "even those". The reason why this poses an issue is that it puts an extra emphasis on a specific group - think of it as being like a person speaking and emphasizing one part of a sentence. If I were to put my emphasis on "The girl likes that movie", that can come across different than if I were to just say "The girl likes that movie" or "The girl likes that movie", if that makes sense. It's harder sometimes to pick up on in writing (I still have to watch my writing for this), but it's something to keep in mind. Wikipedia is a little pickier than many other places when it comes to writing styles, so this is also something that would likely not be an issue elsewhere but would be on here.
This could be resolved by attribution, by saying something like "Todd Manini et. al. has stated that...".

I hope this all helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:45, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
