John Legh, &c.

Hello. I appreciate that John Legh needed disambiguation, but John Legh (18th century MP) and John Legh (14th century MP) strike me as very awkward titles, and I suppose more in the same vein are in the pipeline. I admit I don't like "MP" in page names at all, but in the 14th century the role of a member of parliament was so limited (and filled so little of a year) that membership of parliament was only a small part of a member's identity. However, no article exists for either of the John Leghs indicating that they were notable for anything else and the pages which link to them do so in relation to their status as MPs. What are you talking about? Místico and Hunico are the names of their respective articles, not their real names. All I did was make it redirect correctly, it still said Jorge Arias and Luis Urive on the Sin Cara article after I edited it, so I have no clue what you mean by "disruptive edits." I changed absolutely nothing, how hard is it for you to understand that their articles are NOT named Luis Urive or Jorge Arias, but Místico and Hunico. You need to look at my last edit and recognize that it looks exactly the same as it does now, except that when you click on their names and load their article, it no longer says "redirected from Jorge Arias" or "redirected from Luis Urive." Bob Holly

Good evening,

I'm writing on behalf of Bob Holly - I'm the chap working on his autobiography with him.

We're a little concerned about his Wiki page because there is some palpably untrue elements to it. Most notably the notion that he was married to Cathy Dingman at any point. Both Bob's wife and I have attempted to edit this several times, it has been removed and then, a day or two later, it finds its way back there. Not sure why...

Obviously it's within Bob's rights to not have untruths about him reported as fact on Wikipedia!!!

Carlos "Caique" Elias

I believe you have incorrectly marked the Carlos "Caique" Elias page for speedy deletion. I have noted in the talk page why the subject of this page is significant enough to warrant a Wikipedia article. He is one of a very small number of BJJ red and black belts in the world and one of the original students of Helio Gracie. He has placed and competed in the Brazilian nationals. He is one of only a handful (fewer than 5) red and black belts actively teaching in North America and he has spawned a network of over 15 BJJ academies world wide. Hello Suriel 1981,

i just saw that you are about to delete JetDownloader Article and i cannot understand the reason. This is an informative article about an application and not an advert. I read similar articles about other downloaders, and based on the information these articles provided about these softwares i created one JetDownloader. I cannot see the difference! Though i am interested to learn what kind of review is needed in order to be acceptable. Also, wiki's info guide is a bit confusing.

nymphomania

That article is not scholarly and makes a poor attempt at sensationalism...for example "many victorian era mental institutions treated nymphomania as an exclusively female mental illness"...by definition it is for women, there is a different word for men: "satyriasis"...it's not some sign of prejudice on their part that they never diagnosed men with nymphomania. The rest of the quoted bit does not explain the details of why doctors believed the weird things they did in that time nor why their patients believed in it...and for some bizarre reason the line describing women being released from the institutions was removed..it clearly has some kind of political motivation rather than an interest in historical explanation.

My Tommyknocker article

Good day, sir. I noticed that you added a bunch of flags to my article. Rightly so, I understand - the article was not well written, nor well edited and I blame myself for not looking it over thoroughly. Most of the information pulled is from Tommyknocker's Bio on the Traxtorm Records page and, as such, it will naturally be complimentary of the man. I cleaned up my article a little bit. There are not all too many citations I can put, however, just due to the fact that the Hardcore (and to a greater extent, the rave scene itself) scene does not garner particularly much news coverage itself. How can I get these tags removed, then? Or can they be removed yet now that I have cleaned up the wording a bit? Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. Regarding jargon in section headers

Hi Suriel1981, I saw your edit on Brodus Clay mentioning the "no jargon in headers" rule. I actually brought up this issue in a recently archived discussion in WT:PW that you probably missed. Essentially I campaigned for the removal of this rule given that section headers are getting ridiculously generic in the all too common form of "various feuds (2012-2013)". I did list the articles which I believed do deserve section headers listing their turns because they haven't done much else other than the turn, and it would adequately sum up that period of their career. The original version of the article from 2011 was based upon on old and inaccurate source. Further research shows the project began filming December 2013 and is now in post-production. I made corrections/expansions to the article to address the original author's errors and have added a different set of "Find sources" at the AFD. I think the now-better-sourced and improved article. Hey Suriel, I was trying to get a comment in at the ANI thread and it got closed while I was typing. Here's the gist of what I wrote: Don't misunderstand me here, it's not that ColonelHenry's comment was acceptable, it just wasn't actionable. ColonelHenry absolutely screwed up by saying what he did to you, it was wrong, and nobody here is saying otherwise. Even ColonelHenry (very grudgingly) admitted his comment wasn't the best. It's just that the comment in the context presented at ANI doesn't rise to a level of disruption that administrators can take any action on it. That's what I mean by "an occasional outburst ... is to be tolerated and isn't actionable." We all make mistakes, and general there's no appetite for having admins bring out the banhammer when someone momentarily loses their temper. Thanks for that honest explanation - some of that I honestly didn't realise. Maybe I'm a little out-of-touch with the way things are done now - when I started editing 7 years ago, people could say practically anything to another editor, regardless how nasty, as long as they didn't cuss. If things have changed for better or worse now, that's fine, I'll just take more care in my interactions with people and not be quite so anal about The Rulebook. No problem... Wikipedia has long struggled with civility or at least "WP:CIVILITY". I think you're right, things have gotten both better and worse. They're worse in that cursing at each other (in small amounts, at least) is tolerated. They're better because there is some focus on the context around what's happening. Instead of automatic blocks for cursing, there's some effort spent trying to understand why the incivility is happening. Anyway, your plan sounds fantastic. I'm unsure which of the information rejected were deemed unobjective as most of the information were taken directly from the official House of Representatives pages and they meet the biographical guidelines on neutrality.
