Your edit to The Sims 2 edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--Crossmr 14:07, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

That was not an inappropriate link! That link led to the Wiki of The Sims 2! How can an inter-wiki link ever be inappropriate?  Supuhstar *
Its not an official The Sims 2 wiki. Its a fan site. There has been long and exhaustive talk on the article's talk page, and those aren't appropriate for linking from that article.--Crossmr 00:26, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Talk about what on which talk page? Supuhstar *
Talk about links to fan sites on the talk page of the The Sims 2. They are too numerous to list, and everyone who runs one thinsk that this article should be a place to advertise their site. Hence nothing but the open directory project gets linked.--Crossmr 04:52, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I appologize: this was no attempt to advertize. I was under the Impression that Simpedia had become official. How may we go about making it an official Wiki? Supuhstar *
EA would have to publicly state that it is the official Sims 2 Wiki and that they endorse the website.--Crossmr 13:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
What if the official The Sims 2 website declared it the official wiki of The Sims 2? Or if Wikimedia declared it an official Wikimedia project? Supuhstar §

Your signature edit

I noticed when responding to your comment on the help desk that your signature incorporates a personal template. This isn't allowed, per Wikipedia:Signature#Transclusion_of_templates, so I'd appreciate it if you changed it (to a manual raw signature). Further, your signature incorporates an image, which also isn't allowed (Wikipedia:Signature#Images). I know it looks nice (I'd love to do that sort of thing myself), but we're not supposed to do it. Thanks, Nihiltres(t.l) 00:10, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fine. Delete it or whatever. Supuhstar §
