A barnstar for you!

There was no 'satellite imagery barnstar' on the list of barnstars, so I decided I'd give you this instead, for your tireless and amazing satellite-related contributions to Wikipedia. And also for helping me on Discord. ModulatedRotation - Talk here 19:41, 13 September 2020 (GMT) |
Track map request
editHey there Supportstorm. I left this request on the WPTC talk page, but no one ever was able to do it. Are you able to create track maps using IBTRACS? I have a GAN for 1936 Pacific typhoon season, and they'd like more visual representation in the article. Just wanted to check. Hope you're well! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:36, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Hink, I'm doing well! I can make the tracks but just letting you know I'm still using the legacy scheme for plots. Supportstorm (talk) 02:12, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Nice to hear! Pre-1945 wouldn't even have any colors, so even if it's just the gray dots on the track map, that would be better than nothing. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:16, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Not entirely true. A good number of tracks in the TD-9636 dataset have classification codes with them. In the past I've added those codes as UNK, TD, TS, and C1 (>64 knot) for older tracks. Supportstorm (talk) 02:26, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, that shouldn't be a problem then. The classifications are in the season article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:43, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, all the storms that are in IBTrACS have plots. Commons link Supportstorm (talk) 00:54, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
