Historical flags of Switzerland moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Historical flags of Switzerland, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:52, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of List of Nauruan Flags

edit

The article List of Nauruan Flags has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fork of Flag of Nauru

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sungodtemple (talk) 00:24, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I have made your article, List of Nauruan Flags, a redirect that will point to Flag of Nauru. Your work will still be accessible in the page's history. Feel free to contribute there! Thanks, ‒overthrows 00:27, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

List of [insert country]ese Flags

edit

Hey, I noticed that you are making a lot of lists of flags of countries. Please make sure that these lists fall into line with WP:SYNTH and WP:CFORK. Have the flags been talked about significantly? Are there so many of them that it needs to be split into a separate article? I think the ones you have made so far are fine but make sure to consider these. Not every country needs a list of their flags. Sungodtemple (talk) 00:21, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would like to reiterate what Sungodtemple said above, please do not add flags to article simply because they exist in Wiki Commons. Anyone can upload images to Commons, and as a result many of the flags you find there are not based on actual known historical flags and consist of what we call WP:OR (in other words, some Wikipedia editors based it on their own ideas and interpretations, rather than what can be verified in reliable sources). I reverted your edits at List of Moroccan flags and List of Spanish flags, for example, precisely because of this. In List of Spanish flags you were also adding flags outside the scope of the list. Please be more careful, slow down, and check that the flags in question are actually relevant to the article and that they are verifiable. R Prazeres (talk) 18:26, 15 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of hybrid creatures in folklore, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Panther. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of Lebanese flags

edit

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as List of Lebanese flags, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
