New characters article edit
Hi there,
As someone who works a lot on the Zero Escape articles, I recently noticed your character list addition. I must say, I'm not a big fan of this addition. In my opinion, there's just not enough non-primary sources out there to justify this list, as most of the sources will be primary. Take List of The Last of Us characters, which is one of the best characters lists out there. It includes some primary sources, but a LOT of secondary sources as well, especially into character creation for each character. I'm sure IDV will also chime in on this, but I just wanted to hear why you decided to make this list. I know IDV thought about making this list a while back. - I didn't think about it like that xD (The reason I did not edit in any character descriptions was because I was expecting some concern to be raised). I just thought to myself that the series was popular enough, and had enough characters, to warrant it's own character list. Note regarding biographies of living persons edit
Hi, SuperbowserX. Thanks for creating Disappearance of Ana Walshe. My mother had just been telling me about that case, and when I went to see if we had an article on it, it was a pleasant surprise to see you'd made one just half an hour ago.
However, it's important to understand with such articles containing biographical material about living people, the utmost care must be taken with any criminal allegations. We cannot say someone is "believed" to have committed the crime. Either we're sure he did (because he confessed or was convicted) or we're not. So I've reworded the article to remove any such implications. I've also, for now, removed Brian Walshe's name. It's quite likely that there's enough media coverage of him to justify mentioning him, but with such a short article with only one citation, you haven't yet demonstrated that it's appropriate to give his name.
There's a lot that can be added to the article, and with more content comes more flexibility. If you haven't read the biographies of living persons policy before, please do give it a read before you continue editing in the topic area of recent crimes. - Thank you for chiming in. Firstly, I appreciate the recognition of me making the article!
- I completely understand what you mean. The utmost discretion and sensitivity is needed when it comes to unresolved criminal allegations against living people (for ethical reasons, among other things). I had mainly been referring to him having been arrested and charged (as in, "believed" by the police/court systems to have murdered her) - but you're completely right, the wording there was far too ambiguous and broad for such a sensitive matter. It's absolutely of the utmost importance to err on the side of caution on this topic.
