!HELP! 1/11/08 edit

Can anyone help me out?! I have just edited the Camel Trophy page, creating a table of the event locations and vehicles used. I used the Wikipedia conversion tool to convert the table from Microsoft Excel into a Wikipedia format. However it has converted the table without any borders! (take a look at the page to see what I mean). Can anyone help me out and show me how to put a border on the table? Thanks! Superbencooper (talk) 14:34, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fixed it. Have a look at the diff. Opening with | class="wikitable" rather than table seems to do the trick. Also you don't need the || at the end of each row, because || is the column separator so it creates a blank column. All the best -- Timberframe (talk) 17:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for improving Santana Motor edit

Hi! Thanks for the great improvements you've made to the Santana Motor article. You've clearly done a lot of research, and it would enhance the article if you could add references to the sources you used. There are various ways to do this (see Wikipedia:Citing_sources), but to stay in keeping with the article's style to date which uses inline references you should put the source (web address or document citation) between markup tags. The references will appear as [1], [2] etc in the text, hyperlinked to the appropriate entries in the automatically generated reference list which appears in place of the <references/> or Reflist tags. Thanks again -- Timberframe (talk) 11:47, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nice one, thanks! Happy editing -- Timberframe (talk) 19:20, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Real RocknRolla edit

Hi. I'm just wandering what you're trying to do, with the above page. I noticed you created one with capitals and one without. If you are trying to create a redirect page, feel free to contact me on my talk page, or see Wikipedia:Redirect. Thanks Olly150 11:47, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Real RocknRolla edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Real RocknRolla, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Re:The Real RocknRolla edit

Hi there. Sorry for the delay for a reply. No problem, I already redirected the page, soon after I left the comment on your talk page. Re-directing for spelling etc is a pretty common thing. Many popular pages have many different redirect pages, especially football clubs (chelsea, chelsea fc, chelsea f.c. etc.). Basically, just create the page with the different spelling and add this tag - #REDIRECT Insert redirect page, and nothing else. For your page I added #REDIRECT The Real RocknRolla. If you want you can try this using Real rocknrolla, or real RocknRolla or even better Real Rock'n'Rolla. Also, it's good practice to add a comment on the page as a reason for the redirect, but it's not necessary. Just add this tag insert reason here beside the redirect tag. For example, , you would put - #REDIRECT The Real RocknRollaSpelling difference' on a page called The Real Rock'n'Rolla. If you have any more questions, just add a comment on my page. Sorry if this is a bit confusing Olly150 22:04, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi again! My apologies for deleting your latest contribution to Land Rover without giving more reason than "spam" - I've given a fuller explanation of my concerns here; could you have a look and answer them either on the article talk page or by amending the article? File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:2000CTBoat.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:43, 19 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Damiens.rf 19:43, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Where did you get that images from? Since you probably just downloaded them from the Internet, they will probably not be allowed here by the way.

The images must be free for any use (more or less like Public Domain images or images you did yourself). Some copyright protected images are allowed in some narrow circumstances, but only when it's not possible to find a freely licensed alternative. --Damiens.rf 19:59, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Response to Images edit

I took the images from a Camel trophy website. I now that currently they will not be allowed here but I have contacted the Camel Trophy site webmaster for permission. If permission is granted can I then upload the photos? Thanks for your help.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Superbencooper (talkcontribs)

They should agree to release the image under the GFDL license, or the Creative Commons Attribution license, or the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or release the images to the public domain.
You must ask them to forward the e-mail where they release the images to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org (see here).
Asking them for "permission to use the images on the Wikipedia article" wouldn't be enough. --Damiens.rf 20:18, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
