Welcome

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Respect intellectual property rights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
  • Maintain a neutral point of view when editing articles - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account being blocked from editing.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! -Porchcrop (talk|contributions) 01:59, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Conflict on Wikipilipinas about DZAM & DZAR

There are no such radio stations, all of them are hoaxes. User:Lianlaspinas (also known here as User:Lpkids2006) is a banned user in Wikipedia for adding hoaxes here (See he's two account's contributions Contributions/Lianlaspinas Special:Contributions/Lpkids2006). Did you also notice that he created an article there that SM has it's own radio station? He did that several times on the 102.7 Star FM's article and I have reverted that several times. I think he found Wikipilipinas as another place to disrupt. I don't want to create an account there and straighten things up since in my opinion, the admins there don't care if there articles are true or not. It's too messy there. -danngarcia (talk) 13:12, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

So, he's a hoax-maker. How can I block or ask an admin to block User:Lianlaspinas in Wikipilipinas? Superastig (talk) 13:24, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't know any admins there but you can check out their Community Portal there (Similar to the portal here) and request assistance from the admins there. Please also note that most hoax users (namely User:Gabby-shoe2009, User:Gabbyshoe, User:203.111.235.50 and many other banned users) migrated from here to Wikipilipinas to create havoc there. (One user even sent death threats to me). You may encounter several articles there that they had created/edited were mostly, if not, all hoaxes. Thanks. -danngarcia (talk) 13:37, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Looking at the old DZAM article in WikiPilipinas, it looks like a bunch of outdated information (the station in 1998 was actually located in NBC Tower, EDSA, like the article claims) followed by a lot of wrong information (all the "History" section). Good catch noticing the hoax. I left a comment in Talk:DZAR. --Enric Naval (talk) 15:40, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Michael Bedford

The article Michael Bedford has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

claims of notability are not backed up with references

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 13:01, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Michael Bedford

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Michael Bedford. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

DZST

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to DZST, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 08:33, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

And also another note - This link (scanned external image) has the official list of Easy Rock stations, backing up my sources. So please do not remove them again. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 08:40, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Now, I got it. The Easy Rock stations expanded from 3 to 10. They also got Yes FM stations from Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao & General Santos. Superastig (talk) 10:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 105.1 Easy Rock

A tag has been placed on 105.1 Easy Rock requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 06:29, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:DWSS 1494.JPG)

Thanks for uploading File:DWSS 1494.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion nomination of Europe (Italo Disco)

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Europe (Italo Disco) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 82.81.39.149 (talk) 09:04, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Michael Sterling Music Group

A tag has been placed on Michael Sterling Music Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Fair use rationale for File:Dzxq1350.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dzxq1350.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 20:33, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Superastig! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 940 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

The Cure

I've reverted your removal of record labels (which I note is not limited to this article) because you gave no reason for it in an edit summary. It is convention here to list all major record labels on which artists have had releases. If you think they should not be listed you should start a discussion on the relevant Talk page. Cheers. Rodhullandemu 15:45, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

It's based on its discography page. It says "The discography of The Cure, an English rock band, consists of thirteen studio albums, four live albums, ten compilation albums, ten extended plays and thirty-seven singles released on Fiction Records and Geffen Records." Superastig (talk) 10:37, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
You shouldn't rely on other Wikipedia articles as reliable sources. Since The Cure are a UK band, their discography will doubtless mention their UK labels, but the {{Infobox musical artist}} prescribes all labels to which the artist has been signed. I note that The Cure is a Good Article so I presume the labels listed will have been checked. In any case, it's always better to use an edit summary to other editors may understand what you're trying to do. Cheers. Rodhullandemu 15:25, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Villar Records

The article Villar Records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unremarkable company. Unreferenced for over 30 days. Ghits return only self-published sources or unreliable web pages No print-media reports. Wiki is not a trade directory.

Your edit to the MGM Music article contains false and uncited info which has been removed. Steelbeard1 (talk) 19:58, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Your edit to the MGM Records article was reverted because it conflicts with the citation at [1] of a 1983 Billboard Magazine ad by PolyGram which clearly shows the MGM Records logo which was was the original record label for the Victor/Victoria soundtrack album which was manufactured and marketed by PolyGram on the MGM label. Steelbeard1 (talk) 12:01, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

The link you provided at [2] does not support your claim that MGM Music issued recordings on their own. If you look at the individual listings, the Thomas Crown Affair soundtrack was issued by Panagea Records in association with MGM Music. The Best of Bond album was issued by Capitol Records in association with MGM Music. If you look at the undated "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" single from the old movie Gigi, that is an old MGM Records single. The only album that clearly states that it was an MGM Music issue was "Thunderbird 6" which turns out to be a limited edition CD with only 1,500 copies made. So again, MGM Music is not a record label. Steelbeard1 (talk) 12:45, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

I am puzzled where you get the description of New Wave for Johnny Hates Jazz. Allmusic describes them broadly as pop rock, and then more specifically as Adult Contemporary, Alternative, Indie Rock, Sophisti-Pop, Dance-Rock, and Contemporary Pop/Rock. New Wave they certainly were not. Blue-eyed soul does not appear in the Allmusic categorisation either, although I would readily concede that is much closer to the mark than New Wave.

Hi Superastig, I have partially undone one of your recent edits per MOS:CAPS. Rationale, see my edit symmary. You can compare with the Frank Zappa article, in which, being a featured article, it is done "according to the book", so to speak. If you recently have made more such edits and haven't been made aware of this guideline, it might be a good idea to undo some of these edits. Perhaps I will have a look at your edits later on, but you can already start if you like. Cheers and happy editing! - DVdm (talk) 12:24, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Pop/Rock music

Please not that the term pop is often used for sub-genres of rock music. Just because they have pop in the title does not mean that they are actually pop music. A good example is Britpop, which is clearly a form of rock music. In the same way things that are called "something-pop" but are clearly rock do not necessarily need a second name created that involves rock. Thus Jangle pop is a form of rock music, but, as far as I am aware there is no jangle rock. The only reliable guide here are what reliable sources say. Please do not add alternatives to genres or change genres without evidence from reliable sources.--SabreBD (talk) 09:50, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I see. they can't be always called rock. Then they can be just plain Jangle, Dream, Twee (Indie Pop); just like people call some genres as plain Emo & Bubblegum.Superastig (talk)

So you live in the Philippines, eh - I'm envious - all that sun! Now, just a query. Hope you don't mind my asking, but I notice that your contributions are plentiful, but you seldom use Edit Summaries (ESs). I wondered if you had something against them? I have nothing against Edit Summaries, though. I don't use them when I add legit stuff, and that's what some of the Pinoy users are doing nowadays. I only use them whenever I encounter some hoaxes in an article & remove them, leaving the user responsible for the hoax with an explanation. SUPERASTIG (talk) 23:32, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

April 2011

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to MPL Communications. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you.
Re Edit Summaries (ESs) - I wondered if you had something against them? (Reply here, if you'd care to, & I'll get back.) Trafford09 (talk) 17:29, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Your recent changes to MGM Holdings and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer template has been reverted back. King Shadeed 13:17, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Your recent changes to MGM Holdings, The Samuel Goldwyn Company, and Samuel Goldwyn Films has been reverted back. The Samuel Goldwyn Company should not be redirected to the Samuel Goldwyn Films page as Samuel Goldwyn Films is an independent production company. Please refrain from redirecting. Speedy deletion nomination of List of programs broadcast by Radio Philippines Network

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of programs broadcast by Radio Philippines Network, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ApprenticeFan work 09:51, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Dzxq1350.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Dzxq1350.JPG.

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 04:19, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Re: Bombo Radyo Vigan (DZVV)

Hello. You have been repeatedly editing the ownership status of DZVV Bombo Radyo Vigan as owned by Vigan City. It is in no way connected or owned by the City Government of Vigan. It is a Bombo Radyo Philippines-owned station, operated by one of its networks, the Consolidated Broadcasting System. Hoping for your immediate attention. Energy FM on 106.7

Is Energy FM taking over the DWET-FM call sign or retain its old call sign DWKY upon transfer? --Bluemask (talk) 00:19, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

As far as I know, it's still using the callsign. Since DWKY is used by its sister station Big Radio. Superastig (talk) 12:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Do you have a reference for the frequency change of DWMZ? [5] --Bluemask (talk) 08:11, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Edit Summaries

Tip of the day...

Please summarize your work using the Edit summary box

If you make anything other than a minor edit to an article, it helps others if you fill in the edit summary. Edit summaries are visible in the page history, watchlists, and on Recent changes, so they help other users keep track of what is happening to a page.

If you use section editing, the summary box is filled in with the section heading by default (in gray text), which you can follow with more detail. You also can put links to articles in the edit summary. Just put double brackets around [[the article title]] like you would normally. The summary is limited to 255 characters, so many people use common abbreviations, such as sp for correcting spelling mistakes, rm for remove, ce for copy-edit, etc.

Consensus is to Help:Edit_summary#Always provide an edit summary. It's a shame you've so far shunned ESs - is there some reason why you've done so? Trafford09 (talk) 09:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of 91.1 Bansalan FM

The article 91.1 Bansalan FM has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Part of a series of articles on radio stations in the Philippines tagged as possible hoaxes by Bluemask (talk · contribs). Please add reliable source references to establish the existence of this station.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Port of Manila, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Valenzuela (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:VOP Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:VOP Logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. George Ho (talk) 08:54, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Constellation Records

Hello, Superastig. When you moved Constellation Records to a new title and then changed the old title into a disambiguation page, you may have overlooked WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:

A code of honor for creating disambiguation pages is to fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Constellation Records" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:22, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

September 2012

Your edits to the Concord Records, Fantasy Records and Stax Records pages were reverted because they conflict with info in the official Concord Music Group web sites which still gives Universal Music Group as their distributor as shown at [6]. Steelbeard1 (talk) 03:46, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
