The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Mann (Chess) edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Mann (Chess), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.chessvariants.com/piececlopedia.dir/man.html.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of Mann (Chess) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mann (Chess) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.chessvariants.com/piececlopedia.dir/man.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 19:40, 27 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Converting image to .svg edit

Sunny3113, Unfortunately I don't have any software to make .svg images. You can try the link (below) which is a free graphics editor that you can use to make .svg images, or convert other images to .svg.

I tried it once, but the result weren't perfect. You can "cut-out" white areas to make them transparent, but if it is not pure white the result is not good. I hope you can make it work. (I don't know if the norm on talk pages is to reply here or at mine, so I left this message at both pages). LithiumFlash (talk) 15:23, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:CrownLessKing.png edit

The file File:CrownLessKing.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 20 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Citation at the exchange edit

Thanks for your effort to improve the exchange (chess), but "Remark from Larry Kaufman" isn't a satisfactory citation. WP:V requires that sources be published and verifiable. Do you have a source that meets the WP:RS requirements? If not, the claim must be removed from the article. Quale (talk) 01:59, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
