Welcome

Hello, Subzero10 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Dr Aaij (talk) 15:34, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey--so yes, I can see you did the Policies and the Sandbox things--good! Now is the time to play around a bit on Wikipedia, by reading and then maybe editing. There's a guideline at WP:BEBOLD which encourages you to, indeed, be bold, so give it a try. And there's training modules on how to make actual edits, with either the "source" editor or the Visual Editor: go see what works for you. Dr Aaij (talk) 22:23, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

    • This link is not a diff to a Wikipedia edit--I'll have to go through your edits to see what this means. But what on earth is "ReadKong"? Just an advertising platform--not a reliable, independent source... Dr Aaij (talk) 16:20, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • The link is to a program of a series of events, published by the organizer of those events (it's thus a primary source); the biographical information on the participants, including Tony Mochama, which usually comes from those participants themselves--except that in this case it's copied from Wikipedia :

He attended the summer program scholarship under the Summer Literary Seminars (SLS) to study creative writing at the Herzen University, Saint Petersburg, Russia in classes run by creative writers such as George Saunders. (Source: Wikipedia)

So the citation uses Wikipedia to verify Wikipedia. Dr Aaij (talk) 16:25, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Keshawn Curry moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Keshawn Curry, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
