Welcome to Wikipedia and WikiProject Medicine

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Medicine (also known as WPMED).

We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of medical articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are interested in editing medical articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing Wikipedia articles are:

  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on our talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the WPMED talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically require recent secondary sources to support information; their application is further explained here. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
  • The Wikipedia community includes a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens under the scenes and through the bold, revert, discuss editing cycle. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss them on an article's talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.

Feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you have any problems. I wish you all the best on your wiki voyages!

Subrahmanya preethamm, you are invited to the Teahouse!

Your comment on WP:ANI about diabetes and stroke...

edit

...was removed because it was not in the right place. That page is for dealing with behavioral problems. Try Talk:Diabetes or Talk:Stroke, but please frame your remarks in a way that expresses how you think either or both of those articles can be improved. No original research

edit

Please read WP:OR. What you are trying to do in Wikipedia is not OK here.

Wikipedia is open, but that does not mean "do whatever you want". There are policies and guidelines that govern behavior and content.

There is a learning curve to working here, but you have to become aware that you don't know what you are doing, and that you need to learn.

Please read the welcome message above and if you want a one-page orientation, please see User:Jytdog/How. Please also see WP:EXPERT.

People here are happy to help new users learn, but if you remain unteachable, the community will block or ban you. Please slow down and learn. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 01:20, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please slow down.

edit

Please slow down. The edits that you have made to migraine and pain management have been reverted. In both cases, you made edits that were not supported by appropriately reliable sources, and in some cases did not accurately represent the information in the sources you cited. There was a similar issue with your edits related to stroke incidence and diabetes last week. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 15:05, 10 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

ANI warning

edit

I've removed your ANI comments; this isn't the first time you've posted material there that should be discussed elsewhere. If you continue to post comments at the WP:WRONGFORUM, you will likely be blocked from editing. power~enwiki (π, ν) 01:36, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  NeilN talk to me 02:17, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

To be unblocked please state in your own words what other editors are telling you on multiple pages and explain why you are not following their guidance. --NeilN talk to me 02:19, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just i tried to post the fact confirmed by NCBI . I never did this mistake again.

But why are you posting that to WP:ANI? --NeilN talk to me 02:31, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am a physician and most expert in diabetes .But i am unable to tell my knowledge to editors because i am new one. i think that if i post at ANI all people will know the fact , i did this mistake unknowingly . extreemly sorry. i am one of lover of wikipedia Subrahmanya preethamm (talk) 02:30, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Regardless of your personal expertise, Wikipedia requires information be cited from WP:RS. Articles about medicine related subjects must be cited from sources that meet WP:MEDRS. I have no idea why you keep posting this commentary to WP:ANI of all places. You must affirm that you will stop doing that. You must affirm that any edits you make to articles will be correctly cited and sourced. And frankly, if your only purpose is to share your personal expertise, Wikipedia is the wrong venue and you should seek alternative outlets. You must affirm that you will stop editing in this fashion anywhere on Wikipedia.

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
