Help has arrived

edit

Hello. How can I help you? Henrik 15:27, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would like to know how to create a user subpge. Thank you :[user:subhash15]]

Go to the Address of the page you want to create, and you'll be given a box that says "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name.", under there is a link to "Start the <title> article". Click that, and you're in business. BTW, you can sign your posts by typing ~~~~ Henrik 16:07, 14 April 2006 (UTC) Thank you. SubhashReply

I would have thought Stephen Timoshenko#Publications would be a great place to list these. Rich Farmbrough 20:45 16 April 2006 (UTC).

Image Tagging for Image:Test 1.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Test 1.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Helpme - svg

edit

Can someone please tell me the method of converting a .png image to a .svg image? I have found a commercial software which changes .jpg graphics to .png graphjcs. But I do not know how to convert to .svg format.

Unfortunately there isn't a simple way to convert from .jpg (a bitmap) to .svg (vectors). You could try redrawing it in a package that supports SVG. Or ask at our Reference desk for a more comprehensive answer.--Commander Keane 21:43, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
First: please write messages to me onto my [page], and not onto my user page. When the discussion page is changed I will be notified by wikipedia the next time I log in.
Secondly: You can use the free/open source software Inkscape, to trace a rasterimage to get a verctor image. -- panzi 00:41, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
thirdly: About your problem with the white border around a SVG picture: In Inkscape you can define a custom canvas size, so your pic fits exactly onto the canvas. -- panzi 00:46, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:surface normal

Let us continue this at Talk:Surface normal. In short, while I understand your intuitive view of things, your changes to that article were incorrect. Surfaces are a bit more complex than one may think, and KSmrq explained that nicely at talk:surface normal. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 01:40, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Dtext8.svg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtext8.svg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:06, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
