Also I contest the belief that this "legend" is a legend. There is no authoritative evidence that this "fan death" is an unsubstantiated belief (which the term urban legend) implies. The inclusion of this viewpoint from the EPA is necessary as an alternate viewpoint on the issue of possibility of fan induced death (which is possible given the right conditions as evidenced by the CDC and AMA research). The belief that "fan death" is pure urban legend is an opinion and I think all references to it as a "legend" are biased.
