{{helpme}}

hello there, i'm not looking to advertise but was hoping i could create a page for my band. this has been deleted twice now. we are just simply looking to reference our work and feel it is becoming popular.

we are currently gigging regularly in london, uk and evidence of our work popularity can be found on www.myspace.co.uk/shyjune

we are playing camden barfly on saturday (this is the biggest live venue for unsigned bands in the uk!)

like i said, we're not using it as a marketting tool but often people in work-environments cannot view our facebook/myspace to find out what we're about.

the reference can be a healty introduction.

the page we intend to upload on here would just simply contain a band picture, pictures of our cd releases, details of each disc, links to our influences (something which can only be healthy for wikipedia users?). i.e. if someone likes us they may check out the beatles or jeff buckley...

although we tried previously, we will not link to our own page from other pages as this seems to offend some users. we just want a page for reference, that's all

your advice will be warmly received,

stu

Hi! As per WP:COI, you may be suffering a conflict of interest over this matter. However, I can't find any reference to the deleted page, could you please point me to where it is? Also, I have a feeling that the article may have been deleted because it failed to assert notability, but I would like to just check this was the case. You might want to have a read of WP:N. I hope this helps, Stwalkerstertalk ] 18:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Thanks for informing me of the name of the article. I was having difficulty finding the article as it was not in your contributions list (instead, the article was created by User:Shy june), and it appears that as I said earlier, the article was speedily deleted from Wikipedia because it failed to assert the importance, significance or notability of the band. If the band fails the notability guideline, then there isn't really any argument to keep it on Wikipedia. We don't have the server capacity to store articles on every last subject, so we have to limit it to the most notable things. Stwalkerstertalk ] 19:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
