Rumba (1935 film)

edit

Well done on starting this article. I hope that you can expand it.--Runcorn 22:11, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much. I've been going through George Raft's and Wallace Beery's filmographies in my spare time over the past few days. Storyliner 05:22, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

Just wanted to drop you a brief note reminding you to add categories to your articles. All you need to do is add [[Category: {name of category}]] to the bottom of the page. There ought to be a category for films of each year - just replace {name of category} with {[year] films}

Happy editing! --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 00:33, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

4 Devils

edit

My pleasure, Storyliner. It is easy to let that sort of phrase slip by, so I quite understand. 4 Devils is also near the top of my most-mourned list, but sadly, it shares space with many others - the 1926 Great Gatsby, The Patriot, The Case of Lena Smith, the complete Greed, Metropolis, and Napoleon, and on and on...

By the way, Four Devils has existed since October. Shouldn't we blank 4 Devils and turn it into a redirect? Biruitorul 18:59, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stubs

edit

Hi, thanks for creating the stub Gail Patrick. If possible please use a more specific stub than {{tl|stub. A list to selct one from can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types.

Also some handy tips. People should generally be sorted in categories at Surname, Firstname. You can do this for all categories by adding {{DEFAULTSORT:Patrick, Gail}} to your article, just change the name for others. Also to add birth and death date categories I find it very easy to use Template:Lived, but remember this must be substituted (see its talk page for deatails). I hope this helps. Thank you. Hi. Interested in film? I am from WikiProject Films and can give you some tips on how to categorize more fully and an a link ti imdb with an info box. Want to help out? Ernst Stavro Blofeld 21:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pleas could you stub them like Song of the Sarong is now. It save sa lot of trouble later, Cheers!! Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:10, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah!! You don't know how releived I am that you have repsonded to me -many memmbers at wiki project do an enormous task of adding info boxes to tiny stubs and it is far better if you take a minute or two longer to stub them correctly!! Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

It isn't difficult but you can paste that page now onto the articles you have started find the imdb page and number at the top and add the appropriate details to the info box. Also see the categories at the bottom. We have over 100,000 films on wikipedia should be more thn film-stub we even have 1960s-comedy-film-stub. Just go to google images and find the film oster but state the source. It should take a few minutes for each article Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:26, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well somebody started a sub stub the other day and i filled it outlike The Temptress- now already a B-class article. I'm not gonna expect you to create them like this!! but if you could add an info box and the categories it will be very much appreciated Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:29, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

remebmer category American films!!. Please can you add the info box and follow the Sarong example and do this for all of the other films you started thankyou.Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't matter for setting up the pages if you know of the films or not. Information is there and it is also part of a learning curve. My work on Category:Argentine films I had never heard of any of the films I started but basic info can be found very easily. I look fordward to you adding the film boxes and categories. Bye! Ernst Stavro Blofeld 22:37, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

WHY HAVEN'T YOU LISTENED TO ME? Ernst Stavro Blofeld 23:10, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The pages are slightly better but I keep emphaising that an info box is VERY important. all you have to do is copy one from another page and find the approproaie info from imdb. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 23:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have told you also to use the Category:American films but you are not? You are creating a lot of work for all of us here and you don't realise it. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 23:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK peace!! Good work. Its just all you have to do is copy the info box to the page and thn fill it in and when I was looking though John Wayne and saw new sub-stubs again after I spent time trying to help you I got a bit annoyed! Honestly it makes an enorous difference if the info boxes are added and the posters found. On imdb if you click combined details it will come up with the cinematographer information etc.. I'll add a screenshot later. You can image search www.google.com and find the images. All the best Ernst Stavro Blofeld 14:01, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perfect!!! Thats exactly what I mean-this way the stubs are set up for expansion. One of the biggest goals in film project on wikipedia is to add an info box to every film article so you can see how much its means that a little more is done. THanks Ernst Stavro Blofeld 14:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

One thing though can you leave the empty lines of the info boxes in as info on missing music editor etc may be found elesewhere. Also when you look on imdb you'll see the number of the title in the address page e.g 00018970 if you could write than in the info box at the bottom where it says imdb it will connect externally. Cheers Ernst Stavro Blofeld 14:07, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

More on stubs

edit

Hi there, and welcome! I just want to second Mr. Blofeld - sorting stubs into sub-categories is enormously helpful. Also, Amazon.com has DVD cover pix if you need to use them in the infoboxes. Cheers, Her Pegship (tis herself) 01:22, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good work

edit

Good work now!! I have double columned John Wayne's filmogrpahy -when I have time I'll add all the films -feel free to start those missing films. All the best Ernst Stavro Blofeld 20:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am very pleased with your progress -one thing though. On every article in the talk page can you add a film|class=stub with a {{ }} around it - This way the film becomes part of the chain at WikiProject film ready for further development. Thanks Ernst Stavro Blofeld 20:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added images to Ride Him Cowboy and The Rounders to help out a bit. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 20:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject Actors and Filmakers

edit

Hey see my proposals at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals#Actor and Filmmakers and the main WP Film and Biography talk page. Know anybody who is interested? Actors and all film people articles need a body on wikipedia to upkeep them asthey need more focus -it would be a part of Biogrpahy and Film. If you are interested or know somebody who would be, please let them know and whether you think it is a good progession for the project or not. Please leave your views at the council or biogrpahy main talk page. THanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bonanza: The Return

edit

Haha, well I'm sure there are some die-hard Bonanza fans that love the movie. I was just tagging so someone might look for more sources in good faith. Thanks for the correspondence.--Manderson198 (talk) 02:45, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

True. Well if I have some free time and am thinking about Bonanza, I'll try to find some more information. Who knows, maybe I'll even watch the sequels... Take care.--Manderson198 (talk) 03:41, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh wow, I didn't even know about the prequel series. That is kind of funny. You're right about the voices though, and they would probably try to make the show "hollywood-cool" and use popular actors...that would be a disaster. It's good to have a pal on Wikipedia. Cheers.--Manderson198 (talk) 03:59, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

You can actually go to a page that lists the new articles here. This is where a lot of the administrators and some editors browse all of the newly added articles, to filter out spam and whatnot.--Manderson198 (talk) 04:02, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem at all. If you have any questions I may be able to help. I still have a lot to learn myself though. Be warned, however, there is a lot to read...--Manderson198 (talk) 04:08, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

American films

edit

Templates now exist for the films of each decade to connect the lists. Feel free to help fill in pages like American films of 1911 etc. Happy New Year! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:27, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey don't leave wikipedia. You can't leave a project like this!!! However I agree it is very addictive and takes up too much of our lives. The only thing is it is difficult to explore a site this big for ten minutes every day -we need longer!! Find a way where you can manage other things too. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 20:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Film billing

edit

Well, I've spent the last 25 years deeply involved in motion picture and TV casting, so perhaps I've noticed it a lot more because of all the contracts I see. And just because it hasn't happened much with Redford/Hoffman level stars doesn't mean it isn't happening all the time with Gary Cole/Wings Hauser/Ally Sheedy level stars! Those deals don't get the public notice the others do. Monkeyzpop (talk) 08:20, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Cowboy and the Lady (1911 film)

edit

The article The Cowboy and the Lady (1911 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources found and the IMDb reference was false. Also, Alan Hale's film debut seems to have been in 1912 in a different film entirely.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
