Just to be clear, you asked for this because you "would like to edit semi-protected/protected content.' You need to be confirmed to edit semi-protected pages. You already are.

You have to be an admin to edit protected pages. that typically take a year or more of active experience, plus 10,000 or so edits.

If there is a particular semi-protected page you tried to edit, but could not, please let me know so I can look into it.
