I am a user of OTRS and can access emails sent to permissions*@wikimedia.org and info-en*@wikimedia.org (* being the computer wildcard term for any characters or no characters at all). I am able to verify whether or not permission has been sent in to use a specific image or specific text under an acceptable license. I can also check a message that has not been processed yet, if there is some urgent reason that it needs to be cleared.

To request an OTRS check, please leave me a message including as much of the following information as you have:

  1. The exact name of the article or image that you need to have verified
  2. The OTRS ticket number in question (or the URL for it)
  3. The email address where the permission mail would have been sent from
  4. Some or all of the email subject
  5. The approximate time and date when the permission mail would have been sent

At a minimum I need either 1 or 2; if you have both 1 and 2 then I won't need anything else.

Please note:

  • Emails to OTRS are considered confidential, so while I will be able to report specific facts, I may have to be circumspect and may not be able to answer your question as precisely as you may like.
  • I will reply as soon as possible; please check Special:Contributions/Stifle for recent contributions to see whether I am online or not.
