StevesApparel.com edit

A tag has been placed on StevesApparel.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of StevesApparel.com and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jb0007 (talk) 12:22, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. See also Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Notability  —SMALLJIM  13:50, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re StevesApparel.com edit

Hi and thanks for your message on my talk page. It's not about any errors that you may have made while writing or formatting the article. The problem goes deeper than that - basically, there is no evidence that StevesApparel.com is notable enough to be in an encyclopedia. Please read Wikipedia:Notability. There's also a concern that you appear to be connected with the company and would therefore have a conflict of interest. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I hope this explains.  —SMALLJIM  14:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have read the notable article and the COI atrticle and I have interpeted that this probably does not meet the notability requirements of Wikipedia.

In terms of COI, it is meant to be strictly a historical/ informational piece and not an ad. I tried to follow the posting format for this purpose and am in hopes that it was done correctly during the second edit.

I sincerely want to write it the correct way.....

Please advise

Steve

What else is there to advise? If the company "does not meet the notability requirements of Wikipedia", then Wikipedia won't keep an article on it. And it doesn't matter how brilliant the prose is or how thoroughly unbiased the content is, if the article is about a non-notable subject, it will still get deleted. Why do you want your company to have an article on Wikipedia anyway?  —SMALLJIM  15:50, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
