Vandalism by 210.80.130.198[1] on the Little Birdy page edit

Well, you can be as surprised as you like but it happened on multiple pages by that user on 30th September. :)

See here[2], here[3] and here[4].

I beg your pardon - I read the diff wrong. It was simply that someone reverted the vandalism on your post, even though you were not the one who did it. My apologies. Steven 05:24, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

SAGE US-only edit

Trey - I looked at the recent change history for system administrator and I challenge your edit that stated the SAGE is not US-only. Before I edit it again, I would like to discuss it with you. Steven Plunkett 08:06, 23 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Given that until just three months ago an Australian was president of SAGE, a significant fraction of the members are non-US, and it calls itself an "international professional association of system administrators", it at least seems to not be US-only. If your claim is that it is de facto US-only, perhaps you could elaborate. --TreyHarris 09:29, 23 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Indeed. The Australian in question was a Canadian resident at the time too, not even a US resident. Having said this I (as another Canadian resident Australian) believe SAGE is US-Centric, which in a sense is probably fair enough. Robertbrockway 06:07, 3 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Why do we have "Template:User powerbookg4tiger" and "Template:Powerbookg4tiger"? Should one be deleted? AlistairMcMillan 22:33, 27 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Is there a list of templates for user pages? xD —Claunia 00:56, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

SAGE-AU edit

Hi Steve. The word "offshoot" has quite a specific meaning for me. I felt it indicated that SAGe-AU had started as part of SAGE. Perhaps we should spell it out more - I didn't know it was started by ex-SAGE members. Robertbrockway 06:04, 3 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:PeterGabrielPlaysLivecover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PeterGabrielPlaysLivecover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 08:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:User Powerbookg4tiger edit

A tag has been placed on Template:User Powerbookg4tiger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:Sage-au.gif) edit

You've uploaded File:Sage-au.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Orphaned non-free media (File:PeterGabrielBirdycover.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:PeterGabrielBirdycover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:32, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
