Hi

edit

You appear to be a new user here, welcome. Sorry to start it off with a disagreement but I reverted a couple edits because they were unsourced, related to a change from Nielsen BookScan to NPD Book Scan. I'd never heard of NPD before, and the original sources do not mention NPD, only Nielsen. Maybe you are right, if so you can add a source to verify per WP:V. Thanks. Also since your edits are all related to a single company, Nielsen, in case you have a connection, please see WP:COI which is rules on editing topics if there is a connection outside of Wikipedia. Hi Stephbook, thank you for this important information that NPD buying Nielsen BookScan in the United States. We have thousands of articles linking to Nielsen BookScan (for the USA) so this is a significant change. I created a redirect for NPD BookScan, please use this link whenever possible should help with any confusion. I also added a notice in the lead section of Nielsen BookScan. One thing to consider is that a sourced statement can still be accurate, even though the company ownership is changed. If the source is an external link to the Nielsen website, we should say "Nielsen BookScan" because that is what the linked source is for. It would say "NPD BOokScan" if the link goes to the NPD website. One could also remove the Nielsen link and replace with a NPD website link, assuming one is available to support the given fact. -- GreenC 15:35, 1 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
