You have added several German-language links to the English wikipedia. It would be more useful if you created corresponding entries in the German wikipedia, and added the links there. --RichardVeryard (talk) 01:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Username

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because explicit use of a name of a company, group or product as a username is not permitted. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 13:21, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

A number of recent edits made by this user involve adding links to the culturebase.net website that are explicitly associated with an organization called "House of World Cultures" (Haus der Kulturen der Welt). [1] [2] --RichardVeryard (talk) 23:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:42, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Before your unblock is considered, it would be helpful if you can read WP:External links and confirm that you are willing to follow that guideline in the future. Since your organization's web site, http://www.culturebase.net, contains some material that could be of value on Wikipedia, it is easier for us to accept the addition of links when you spend the time to improve the articles using some of the new information. This may require you to add some relevant prose to the article. An example of you adding a link to culturebase.net is here. Be aware that you should write the link summary in English, not German as in this case. EdJohnston (talk) 16:27, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Still unacceptable. Accounts must not suggest they are accessible to more than one person. WilliamH (talk) 12:46, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It has become apparent that your account is only being used for spamming inappropriate external links or self-promotion, so it has been blocked indefinitely. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will also have their websites blacklisted.
