Question

Is there a way that we could change the length of time per user? For me, an hour without an edit is more likely because I do a lot of reading and I have been on Meta more recently. Maybe it could work like MiszaBot and have a template like this:

|online       = [what the ParserFunction name is for online status]
|offline      = [what the ParserFunction name is for offline status]
|on-edits     = [number of edits to set online status]
|off-time     = [how long without an edit to set offline status]

So I would type on my status page (User:Greeves/Status): {{User:Greeves/StatusTemplate|in}}{{User:StatusBot/config|online = in |offline = out |on-edits = 1 |off-time = 60 min |other-name = around |other-time = 30 min}}

Problem

There is probably a default, like 5 edits in the past half hour, or something. Anything below that will not change your status, since if you're not making a lot of edits, you probably won't be around at your computer constantly for a period of time. --(Review Me) R ^ParlateContribs_@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 20:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Another sort of problem

I just recently added myself to the catagory and added the template to my userpage and the template is telling me that I haven't been on since 22/8/2007 15:38:50, which is not true. I have made edits since then and I don't what's wrong.  Bella Swan_(Talk!) 18:33, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm having a similar problem. I just added myself to the category yesterday, and StatusBot seems to think that I've been offline since earlier today, when in fact I've been on the whole time except for a few hours. GlassCobra 03:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

How Long to Create a Status Page?

I've been waiting for hours now for StatusBot to create my status page, yet it still has not done so. I've added my userpage to the Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot and I even tested the status template in my user sandbox but it still isn't updating my status yet. How long does it usually take for StatusBot to create my status page (the userpage mentioned only 5 minutes)?¤~Persian Poet Gal ^(talk) 01:19, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Suggested change to default template

I just signed up for this bot, and I noticed the bot is down, I assume it will be up later. I made a change to my copy of the default template([1]) that made it say "Status unknown" if the status page does not yet exist. Perhaps this could be added to the default template so that new users do not start with a proper message instead of the glitch where it shows the name of the page instead of the content. Default date format

Is there a way to change the format of the date? Currently, it's DD/MM/YYYY, but I want to change it to MM/DD/YYYY. Can that be done? Or perhaps, just written out Month Day, Year. That would confuse fewer people I think. Leebo ^T/C 18:54, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

No idea for the real status bot as for the clone/backup bot that i'm working on it realy depends if you want features like these and stuff like checking users logs as well as contribs. --Chris  G  04:36, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't exactly get it

You said it's crashed and not working; I know that much, but what are you doing about it? Is Chris G Bot 3 simply taking over, and temporarily or permanently? TheFearow is on a long wikibreak so he won't be doing anything about StatusBot anytime soon, my bot will take over from StatusBot untill he comes back, when he comes back he can start up Status Bot again and my bot will act as a backup if StatusBot crashes or StatusBot will remain dead and my bot will do all the work. --Chris  G  10:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

User question

Hi. I just started using your status bot. On the talk page of said bot, it says "o get it to update you when you login in all you have to do is say !status in #statusbot." How do you get to "#statusbot", because when I click the link (note that I use Firefox as a browser), a display box appears stating that Firefox does not know how to open an IRC protocol.
